Should we nerf pointless discussions and polls?

Sometimes, I wonder what the point of some discussions are.
When you have little to no experience with the game, should you be asking people whether or not to nerf CP (especially if you're not even max CP). Should posting a poll for the sake of posting a poll, with no real intent to change anything, be ok?
I don't think ZOS should do anything about it though. I think it should be up to the user to realize how irritating behavior like this could be.
