The sextant is vastly more expensive than the calibration guides, which are huge AND have an effect! What are they thinking?!
The design of the stargazers' telescope is indeed horrible and makes absolutely no sense. How would it turn? How would it be adjusted?
At the end of the day, I'll probably skip the massive telescope and buy a few more of the small ones for my observatory, so I can have telescopes facing multiple directions instead of one massive telescope could never feasibly turn.The Exclusionary Mandates of Maruhkite Selection: All Are Equal

You can see the telescope on top of the pyramid.
Nizumeh is standing in front of the pyramid, so you get an idea about the size properties...
You even can see it from the other far end of moonsugar meadow (in the center of the picture):
