So it says I need to rebuy game on steam and login normal and it will link my account. So does that mean rebuy whole game? (expansions etc. or just base game.) Also. does the game need to be installed normally plus the Steam install or just steam install? Right now I have no eso on my computer.

If you don’t have ESO on your PC you can just buy the Steam version ... just Steam install.

Just for your information, a lot of players don’t recommend Steam ... due to past issues. You’ll find a good many topics on it if you do a forums search.

There are no account transfers between platforms (e.g. from Xbox or PS4).

Do I just get base game or the whole game with expansions like my non steam account?

If you already have ESO on your computer, and want to link it to Steam, you just need the base game purchase on Steam in order to link it.

If you don’t have ESO on your computer, you’re basically starting from scratch as a new player. So, only one purchase is needed for the base game or whatever bundle you choose (on either Steam or through the regular launcher).

Kinda confusing, So I own the game and all expansions but have a new computer and have not redownloaded my game. I was thinking of going with steam because all my other games are steam games. So can I buy the steam version with the expansions and then just login to my old account. or do I need to download the whole game and intstall it and then download again on steam. The whole reason I want steam is so the game is in the steam folder.

Keep in mind that if you move to Steam, you are adding an additional dependency. ESO will need to authenticate through Steam's servers. That means that you might not be able to play due to problems on Steam's end while you would have been able to connect if you didn't move to Steam.

It is a bad idea unless you are really OCD and feel violently ill from having a game not in a Steam folder (and just adding the non-Steam game to your steam library isn't enough) or you find having to manually enter your credentials to be too annoying.

The Steam version will have to be downloaded separately. You CAN use the steam version executable of the game to log into non-Steam accounts. You cannot use the non-Steam version to log into Steam accounts.

I don't think having it on your computer matters. What matters is weather you want to keep using a preexisting ESO account through Steam.

    Got it.

It was never specified in the OP that they had the game on a previous PC. ;)
