There are plenty of threads pointing out the various issues with the game and lack of response by ZOS. The results of these is a depressed number of players on the various servers, some hit hard than others. On PC-NA on the small sampling of about 3% of Guilds with Traders that I can see has last weeks sales down by about -75%. These are mid to large Guilds. I was wondering how faired the Guilds last week that I can not see? By creating a decreasing population it also brings a Gold Sink of wealth leaving the game and decreased demand so a depression of prices. Have to ask is this long term or just a short down term. Time will tell. Not the way I would make a Gold sink but it's in ZOS's hands.
The approach of leaving Bots alone with little actions against them I guess was a long term vision of ZOS to pad the population numbers. This will work for a short time until the population depression makes it less profitable for them. Bots will stick it out longer than a player as they want to get a return on their investment. This causes a increasing ratio of Bots to player, which leads to even more player exodus. Less players means less likely purchases of Gold through the Gold Sellers then in time even the Bots start to abandon the ship.
