PVP Grief

I wont name names but I will call you out ZOS.

There is an individual that plays on DC Kaal PC. Whilst retrieving a DC scroll this individual collected the scroll and ran it to EP gates, handing it to EP. They have done this twice that I have seen.

On another occasion they did the same thing with Volendrung, handing the hammer to EP.

It was reported that the individual again returned a DC scroll to EP gates last night.

This is severely undermining the integrity of the campaign for those that are interested in playing the campaign.

I have reported this individual for the three actions I have seen. Many players say in zone that they have also reported this individual.

What's the story zos? or isn't there one? As usual the reaction is silence because you care so little for pvp anyway, judging by the appalling performance.

Why dont you just officially come out and say that you aren't interested in policing or maintaining pvp? It's not like everyone who plays pvp doesnt know it.

Every campaign has its trolls and this cant be banned, as we've seen for years. Some people still angry with faction lock and do this as protest against this feature (I saw such explanation).

I have seen this happen twice, once when AD was running the scroll from the temple to the gates, DC picked it up and I assumed it would go back to the temple.

No it ran all the way to EP, who eventually picked it up. EP got a scroll when they had nothing to with its capture.

I have noticed that having an ultimate booster in a group is occurring more and more, players of different factions who are in a small man group purely to be light attacked.

The standard you walk by is the standard you accept.

Wonder if they could make it so scrolls can only be carried for a certain amount of time before they are dropped automatically. Then the carrier or another player has to pick it up again.
It'd give the faction a chance of regaining the scroll from the spy in these instances.

The only way to stop this kind of thing is for the pvp community to stop it.

If a troll runs a scroll to you, run it back. Don't give him the attention he requires.

    Or we accept it.

I know what I would do.

If you really want to make sure the scroll goes where you want it to, pick it up yourself. Same goes for hammer (even tho hammer should be deleted if you ask me). If you pick up the scroll it's yours to do whatever you want to do with it.

In a perfect world, everyone would play for thier faction.

We don't live in a perfect world, however, so that mentality only really causes you harm.

Some people get thier jollies by being the biggest (snip) they can be. That's, unfortunately, not something Zos can ever fix.

I'm not defending that behavior, I'm just saying it is what it is.

That or limit accounts one per person. Which at this point would *** off and punish so many legitimate players that I doubt we have any options left.

    Just gotta deal with it.

Its not against any rules to do that. ZoS isn't doing anything about it because there's nothing for them to do. Spies/traitors are a part of war.

Im pretty sure the definition of "exploit" in "using game mechanics in a way not intended by the game" makes them able to do whatever they want. Killing spies and traitors, and even just barring them from access is also "part of war." We don't have that, so its usually up to the game designers, GMs, customer service to handle.

Campaign AvAvA is competitive. Competition is meaningless if there are no rules. ZOS have never established clear rules, nor have they punished violations thereof. They used AvAvA as a major selling point for the game, but have no tools to ensure it runs anywhere near smoothly, starting with performance and ending in these unfair practices that undermine the essence of a month-long competition. As with so many other aspects of the game, the only thing that matters to ZOS is that enough people log in, and enough people buy clowns. At the management level, they are way past wanting to make a decent game.

(I used to care about campaigns but left after months of underdog bonus exploitation, scroll and emp trading, cheat engine use, etc. with zero visible consequences)

I thought you would show up here..... kinda ironic that you complain about all sorts of nightblade stuff coz it's not....waaaa fair to be a nightblade.....LMAO

    (snip)

We can agree or disagree about the behaviour mentioned in OP. PVP is meaningless but people defending the behaviour in my opinion show their true lack of integrity. It's this win at all costs attitude that erodes pvp. Its laughable to me that people think this is ok.

It's just another reason why pvp has small numbers, lots of the better players are salty (snip). PVP numbers are plummeting and this behaviour is just another nail in the coffin.

Sounds like you've never actually fought to take a scroll from a defended keep. If you had, you'd know that stealthers can just waltz in and take it while you are still in combat. L2P, LMAO!

I think he means when the person on your team drops it for the other team, pick it up before them. Nothing to do with a defended keep or being in stealth. You can see the little scroll icon on your map & have plenty of time to react. You know its someone taking it to the other team. Go pick it up when they drop it and don't let them get away with it. Or kill everyone he's trying to give it to.

I remember Escape From New York. In the movie, there were clear boundaries you had to stay within...but what went on inside of it...was virtually anything goes.

Obviously, within reason. I think Scroll Trolling is the last thing on the list of ban-qualifying actions.

I'm in Cyro almost every day and it's rare I observer a Scroll Troller. When I do...it's meh, and I try to get a group to take care of them.
