Does anyone know why the Dragonguard armor from motif is different color than from outfit style?

I have the Dragonguard motif. I crafted chest armor at each level/step. None of the armor I made is the red color that you get when you use the outfit style.
WTF?!?

Armors change color when you upgrade them.

You can still dye it in the Coral Red though ... did you try dying it at the Outfit Station?

Armors also change color based on the material used. I suspect that the outfit styles are based on top tier mats, so Ruby Ash, etc.
