Skill lines for Crowns - a question - SOLVED

I'd like to buy a Fighter's Guild Skill Line - it is available to me as I maxed it once. But what about the quests? Will they be available? I'd love to do the questline again with this very character I'm leveling now. Just for the story. Can I still do it if skill line is purchased?

If you maxed it to level 10 on one toon, you unlock the ability to unlocked it on all your toons with crowns.

    I think so.

I haven't tried what you're proposing, but I have had characters who's fighters guild level was way above what was required for the quest line because they unlocked the skill line then did a bunch of stuff which gained levels (killing daedra mainly) before continuing the quests.

They were never locked out of the quests or jumped ahead - it just meant that when they finished one quest and were told they'd hear about the other one soon (meaning when they got to the right level) they were actually able to pick it up immediately. So it was a bit jarring for immersion, but it was possible to play the entire thing.

You should be able to, since leveling the skill line is not dependent on quest completion (unlike Psijic).

I have a couple of characters that are level 10 in FG that get accosted by the NPC every time they run into a town.

I'm pretty sure you can, since you don't actually level up the Fighters Guild or Mages Guild lines by doing the guild quest storylines. You level up Fighters Guild mainly by doing dolmens, but killing any undead/daedra count. And, of course, to level Mages Guild, you have to find lore books.

Fighters guild is very easy to level. I wouldn't suggest using crowns to max it out; you will max it doing dungeons and dolmens anyway.

Well, the wording is a little off here. You don't unlock it for all your characters with a single purchase.

You can unlock it on each character for a separate purchase on each of your characters.

Also, the skill line unlock doesn't reset the storyline. It's just for the skills themselves.

I have leveled Fighters and Mages Guild Skill lines doing no quests all. I have also completed both Mages and Fighter quest lines with very little leveling of the skill lines.

Thieves and Dark Brotherhood skill lines can be leveled with Radiant Quests alone, but you have to do some of the quests to unlock those quest givers. And, you have to level the skill lines to unlock the story quests as you go.

I also second the post about not wasting crowns to level Fighters. Just join the Alikir or Auridon Dolemen Zerg and you will have the FG maxed in very little time.

I actually prefer the public dungeon in Coldharbor for leveling FG Skill Line. Or, if you do Skyreach in Craglorn, it should level even faster, but you will have to be carried through that if you are low level.

This. It is the easiest and fastest guild line to level. I just go into a public delve with lots of daedra and run around killing stuff. OMG it is so easy.

It is the mages guild that is the worst grind since it requires running around picking up a lot of books across many zones.

    Thank you, guys!
Dolmens are pretty good for leveling Fighters Guild. Yet my new char is an RP one, he never left Gold Coast yet and he will saty there until all quests are done. No fast travel, no dolmens, no Craglorn. I understand that I have a big amount of Crowns to watse, yet I'm willing to take this advantage. I only worried for Fighters Guild questes - I wish I could redo them with this char. TY again!
