The game is going to die very soon

No developer would let their game have issues on that level. There is only one possible reason why they aren't actually fixing it and it's because the game is no longer very profitable. They're just trying to keep it alive as long as possible with band aids instead of actually fixing it because it's not worth the effort and they're going to abandon it soon. If they had long term expectations from the game, they'd have fixed it very fast. I doubt that there will be another chapter at all. They just want to squeeze all the money they can before pulling the plug.
