To be honest, I suspect Class Change is the same sort of problem as Faction Change - tied into too many parts of the game systems to make it a simple matter of replacement, to the point that ZOS just doesn't want to put in the time and effort to do it. But that's a suspicion based on why ZOS says they aren't working on faction change. To the best of my knowledge, they haven't ever discussed the possibility of Class Change tokens.

Class change has no way as much tied to it as faction does, with class you just have 3 skill trees, it would just be the same as a race change. With faction, you have the OG main story and your home town, for things like the harborage that would need to change, that is properly rooted into the core of the game.

Unfortunately, a class change token would not make business sense as why would you want to sell someone a single class change token when you can sell them a new char slot, xp pots, skyshards & other skill lines...

which is why it should only be available to those paying every month. eso plus.

They wouldn't need a class change token if they let us merge characters of the same class together to let us choose between racials / builds.

What I mean by this is, if I have a Dragonknight Nord Tank and a Dragonknight Breton mDK and I merged them. I end up with 1 character that has 2 separate loadouts with 2 different CP's and 2 different attributes and 2 different racials and 2 different skill and set loadouts that you can swap between at will. If I make an Orc Dragonknight I can also merge that into the 1 character. Now I simply have 1 Dragon knight with 3 (or more) different loadouts that can take on every role and PVP easily.

18 Character slots, 6 classes means 3 characters per class.

So if people make 6 primary characters 1 for each class, and have builds and loadouts available you won't need a class change because you will have 1 of each class in a much more meaningful way that we presently have with mono-functional characters we have.

The problem we have, and the primary reason people want class changes is because they are not really characters, they are builds, and some patches nerf builds and other builds on other classes become more appealing. If ZOS made the characters more meaningful and more multifunctioned then we wouldn't have a need or desire to swap classes.

I'd much prefer 6 multifunctional characters than 18 'builds'.

    that will cost zos money.

There are already too many "Change Tokens". At least don't add more, please.

you certainly dont have to take advantage of any of them, current or future. just skip right over the token area of the cs.

If not the class change token, I would like the possibility to create a new character with skyshards, quest lines, books and map discovered as one of my others. I’m okay with having to level skills, it’s the feeling of repeating something for the 800th time that’s boring.

If I had that option, I would probably have a character for each class

The only fair reason to allow people to do it, would be on the basis that they changed the racial of your character and it is now not suited to its original class.

...but, then they have intentionally created a problem, that didn't exist prior to your character's creation and have then sold you a solution.

So, I'm going to have to say no, while they can mess around with things like that.

didnt they just change up racials recently? and gave us a free something or other(s)?

I'm just going to go on a limb, and say that the majority of the players that want class change tokens, want that because of the achievement system.
Most players get attached to their characters and invest a lot of time, if now all the time that they play into achievements.
The current system of ESO achievements really is not that great, having to redo all of those achievements on each alt is a bit tedious and not very intuitive.

Look at the CP system, it's account wide, why not have the achievement system account wide also. I know that the rewards ( skins, mementos, etc) are account wide, but there is a feeling when you press J and check the achievements tab and see that ugly 0/39760.

I also know that some players might argue that "you did not earn those achievements on that class!", but that's totally besides the point. Once you get to play a different class, and enjoy yourself by doing that and don't feel that uneasy feeling because of those achievement points, you get to spend the time needed to learn that certain class. ( Let's face it, class identity / fantasy is out of the window with ESO so there isn't really that much of a variety or change in class meta, other than a few skills that are swapped).

Absolutely not. This would only further incentivize ZOS nerfing old classes into the ground to sell new ones.

You can change the race to whatever you want for that DK. It is probably your best option if you no longer like that race for the DK. Unlikely class change will happen.

Some people love their characters though and don't want to just race change them, that was one of the worst parts about them just rerolling all the racials with no way to change class cause not everyone was cool with their "just change your race solution".

Do I think we should have class change? Yes, definitely! Do I think they'll ever give it to us? Nope, don't think we'll ever get that or alliance change either. ZOS already gave people the solution to this in the most monetized way possible by selling you all the skill lines and skyshards so you really only have to regrind your class stuff which I'd imagine you'd have to do anyway even if class change was offered. Gives them the most money with the least amount of work.

Pros of class change token: Easy money for ZOS, Convenience for players who dont want to make alt after alt after alt.

Cons: People will complain that ZOS nerfed them to get them to buy said token.
Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.

But wouldn't you still need to grind out that class if you changed it? Don't think zos will give you fully maxed skills. If so what's the point? Just make a new character.

It is already happening. Look at NB. If you would offer class change token right now, it would basically purge NB out of this game. Only hardcore class enthusiast would remain and perhaps some nostalgic players would keep their main as crafters...
Up to the moment class would bo so nerfrd that overland content would be too difficult that is...
    ...Then 100% would re-roll...

There are Weapon Skills, Armor Skills, Guild Skills, Vampire or Werewolf, Skyshards, Crafting Skills, etc... Create a new character and you have to do those again as well.

And Motifs! How many of those have you learned in your old character?
