Annoying Class Pets

After years of begging, petitions and mails to ZOS, to disable class pets in towns, which of course was completely ignored, i appeal to the players:

Dear fellow gamers, please release your class pets, the flapping matriarch and the fat bottomed bear, when you are in towns, crafting or banking. They block NPCs and crafting stations for others and are very annoying. Just press “K” and move the appropriate pet icon back and forth, or press “C” and rightclick the pet icon. Don't be ruthless. Thank you

It must have happened to me 2-3 times, tops in all my years of playing eso, and I browse guild stores all the time (and believe me, when I say all the time, I mean it !)..
Each time, I asked on the say channel something like "could you move your bear, please? I can't access XXX"

Each time, the player in question gladly obliged.

It's a bit of a non-issue, IMO, wich cristallize lots of resentment for reasons I can't grasp.

I mean, I'm a sorc. Sometimes, I forget to unsummon Flappy McWings, true. It happens, and I gladly unsummon and apologize if being told.

    So, please .. chill.

It’s a mini-game on it’s own — click the banker/NPC/craft station in between flaps of the matriarchs’ wings!

I am all for the combat pets unsummoning in crafting hubs.

You see, this would make duels there unfair, therefore, duels can be banned there too, making the cities less noisy, flashy, and annoying.

    Win-win. o:)

Weird, I have more issues with them placing boxes that can be stolen from next to bankers and writ turn in <Vvardenfell> more than pets.

Usually the biggest pet issue is honestly the bear that warps himself on top of a writ turn in for whatever reason.

Just because Zos has not change aspects of the game to head your request does not mean it was ignored. I am not ignoring your request though I will not be turning off my pets when I enter town.

As someone who has played this game since the start and logged way to many hours in it I have rarely found players combat pets an issue since Zos made it so we can walk through them. Most often when someone has a pet out at a wayshrine, crafting station and most bankers if it prevents me from interacting a step to one side or the other usually rectifies the issue.

People’s Bears being on crafting stations and writ turn ins is definitely a thing.

Possibly it’s an accident but it often seems like a troll.

Pets should auto despawn if they hit a crafting interactable in a town, imo

My sorc and warden pets automatically de-spawn while using crafting stations. Unsure when this feature was introduced, was sometime ago though.
In my opinion. People turn this into much more of a drama than it actually is.

I've done far more than my share of crafting writs over the years. While I regularly stole things accidentally until lazy writ crafter built in a prevent for it (yay!), I've never really had a problem with someone's pet getting in the way. The matriarch is annoying to just about everyone, and I'd buy a smaller or flightless model in a heartbeat on all my accounts that use pets. That said, it doesn't block access.

Haha, let's make it further on:
"Dear Aldmeri and Pact soldiers! Please! Leave all the keeps, outposts and towns in Cyrodiil! Can't you understand you block our way in to take them! It's very annoying to lose Aleswell to you minutes after we've taken the Chalman Keep! Just stay at your spawn areas and let us fight with those Alliance guards protecting the keeps! Thank you!"
    or
"Molag Bal! Your servants are annoying! I try to reach you only while those fat bottomed Orgim, Dremora and other mobs always try to stop me! It takes me too much time to kill them all instead of heading straight to your place to settle the main quest problem quick! Dismiss them, you f*ing mor.."

P.S. Personally I always switch off my Daedric servants whenever I don't need them even in case I'm not in a town at all. It's my habit. I don't like anyone following me that way, so I even don't use any non-combat pets. But I do not blame those who do not do the same.
P.P.S. Whenever you feel annoyed, draw your sword and say this spell to make those guys run away along with their pets:

You know, people used to move their pets when asked. However, since Elsweyr launched any requests for pet movment are met with silence. It seems the new norm to be DEEPLY engrosssed in your writ rewards while your bear blocks half the turn in containers. Or AFK while your bear is blocking the wayshrine. Or place your bear so that someone cannot interact with a quest giver.

I know this may give the small minded their jollies, but it gets you reported by those of us who would like to play the game and not play "hunt the interact button."

99% of the time when I'm on a sorc I will drop my pet before crafting writs.
The 1% of the time is when someone complains as I am in the process of dismissing them. This results in me summoning everything possible and strategically putting them in front of whatever the jackanapes is trying to click on.

Is it nasty? Yes. Good thing I'm a grumpy old man.

Thanks for asking nicely. I almost always dismiss my pet in town out of respect of my fellow players. HOWEVER. If my fellow player disrespects me the pet stays out.
Encourage your fellow players to not eat the jelly donuts so everyone doesn't have to do push ups.

I legitimately did not know you could despawn the bear from the character page until about a month ago. I have 120 days of server time on my warden.

That's Lazy Writ Crafter addon doing that, not a new feature. It just so happens that anyone doing writs on pc also has that addon, so it seems ubiquitous.

Since my second day in this game, when I couldn't interact with a banker in Vvardenfell, or a crafting bench ditto (because of my OWN DAMN BEAR btw), I have dismissed my pets as I access a wayshrine or enter a town.

Finding the Pet Dismiss addon made it all a lot easier, but I figured out how to do it from the character sheet easily enough to begin with.

Nah ill keep my pets out.

A pet can not block a transaction between a vendor or at a crafting table. Pan your camera around.

Maybe not flappies or other sorc pets, but warden bears are definitely big enough to completely block a writ turn in box. Hasn’t happened often for me, but I still think it’s better to be courteous and dismiss the chonky bear when doing writs.

The bear can not block the writ box. Its not like the pet bear is keeping you from using the writ box. Think!

Bears can absolutely block interactions. If it stands on top of the object it can make it either difficult of impossible to interact with the object beneath it. No thinking required. It just happens especially when a Warden decides to go afk after doing writs without stepping away from the turn in location.

Oooor maybe think that some people have different experiences in-game than you?
There was literally no clickable portion of the box the bear wasn’t blocking. I looked, even in first-person. I’m not making this up because of some secret vendetta against wardens and their chonky bears. 🙄
