not being able to play without making a new char

as the title says - i'm not able to log in if i don't make a new char, the game just freezes and doesn't let me in.

it only lets me in when i make a new char.

How many existing characters does this affect and when did this first start happening?

The first step we recommend taking is to remove any add-ons you're using followed by running a repair through the ESO launcher. If you've already tried these troubleshooting steps please let us know.
