Dueling matchmaking

Everything you can do has some sort of reward in the game... for us duelers there is none... dueling matchmaking would be perfect and will speed things up, new players to fight, less toxicity than normal duels and actual rewards.. this has to be put in the game at some point.

Duelling is actually a gold sink because of the potions you chug through.

Honestly though, the reward is knowing you were better than that person, that time.

In relation to speeding up matchmaking, I go to my platforms main duelling spot and I am guaranteed to have back to back to back fights as long as I stay there, does your platform not have one? I know there's a few other spots people duel on ours but it's people that wouldn't hang at the main one.

"Toxcitiy" which by the way is a pretty tired buzz word, is relative to the player not a duel - Without duelling rules, you'd be facing the same guys, in the same carry builds and their pride would be equally dented when you spank them, nothing will stop that.

Can you think of a way to balance matchmaking in a duel without serious changes? I can't but I can think of tonnes of issues with that idea.

Dueling. Exactly like in stormhaven. Just with way more people and rewards, and actual thing to chase.

You mean your build was better than the other's,
There is no skill at dueling after reaching a specific point.
There is no balance, its all about numbers hitting numbers.

    To OP, great idea.
Also why stop there? Cyrodill is failure,
Should add more modes to BGs with CP, maybe Deathmatch(Not team DM), or 30 vs 30 mode,
If ZOS could only just think...

im not against more things for pvp but how would a dueling match maker work?

    would there be rewards?

how do you win, would it be filled with tanks who just live long enough to out last a timer?

will there be a timer? if not how can winners be determined?

would there be mmr or am I going to mash lvl 20 potatoes all day?

many questions, unfortunately I don't think it would be very popular the dueling we have today has its own player code people chose to follow, without that dueling would be a cheese fest and I don't see zos placing player rules in their own game.

They could just make it no cp and that would fix most of the problems you talked about.

I'm not against it by any margin as I duel a lot but the top duellers already have common spots on most platforms (if not all)

Also, this would turn duels into a full-time serious thing, nobody would be just having a casual fight anymore, there'd be incentives to run the worst stink you can imagine or sets like Blessed etc and just troll people.

There is skill involved of course, especially against your own class but I know what you're saying, once you're at the top, it's all relatively the same (They get the massive KO, or you do) but there's always adaption to be had, even small.

No there's no balance and there's no way to manage it fairly, ZOS can't rule sets out etc. It'd be a *** fest imo.

All for it if it could work and definitely up for additions to BG's but this won't work imo.

They should place dueling platforms in certain cities and crafting stations scattered all around on the platform. Flappy wings are our friends.

I would say make it the same as normal duels. best out of 3. 5 min each fight.
And maybe capping tankyness. and if still no one dies, the winner would be the one that had the highest health or that took less damage. im sure they can figure something out, should be easy in that regard.
As for rewards, im thinking more like a gambling sort of things, make 1 that is casual that the winner earn AP and one that you have to bet 10k or something similar. perfect idea imo.

I was thinking about dueling long time ago and that would be awesome if people would choose some non official spots for duelling, where anyone can just walk there and fight. Same like Dark souls have. I mean there always guys who wanna duel near the pontiff Salivan bonefire at Dark Souls III even despite the fact that the game has an arena system.

I don’t know what your platform is, but PCNA has duelers gaming out around the stormhaven undaunted area. There’s people basically 24/7

All of these questions is why the devs added dueling as a novelty not a game mode. They said they didn't want to balance any sets or skills on dueling because of how narrowly focused the fight is. There's too many variables to consider when it comes to trying to come up with some sort off match making system. People already talk about how the mmr doesn't work for BGs. Why would one for dueling be different.

Yeah there was also topic about 1v1 arenas. But PvE carebears cried... Actually I don't know why, maybe because they don't want no more PvP exclusive rewards. Hard to say, but dueling finder per se is neutral for me, I'd be more interested in 1v1 arenas but any PvP activity that doesn't forces me to run with group would be nice ;)
    Say no to Toxic Casuals!
I am doing my best, but I am not a native speaker, sorry.

I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game." - @AlexanderDeLarge

I would love this, just because it would help with a lot of the lag you experience dueling in the most populated city in the game.
