Hello guy, just like title, as a healer I'm interested about how your sustain is this patch in average : Raid / Dungeon.
This post is mostly for me, to know how I need to invest in sustain help this patch.
Due to life requirement, my friends don't play enough at this moment so I can't get enough return about it, that why I made this poll to ask other player easier.

Any return and vote are appreciated.

Have a good day :)

I lost a bit, maybe more than a bit, but I am relatively new and still learning and adapting. :) I am not sure what you mean by “it is still better to buff DPS rather than sustain.” I don’t believe DPS was buffed this last patch so I don’t know what you mean.

I've noted that I need to be mindful of spamming Elemental Blockade. This makes sense due to the rather large increase. A little adjustment is needed but otherwise sustain seems about the same-ish.

When I speaking about buff dps I speak about set/ability the healer gonna use to increase the dps number instead of focus more on set that give sustain to them ^^

Feels about the same, and my DPS is about the same- then again I'm learning to use knock off spectral bow now with my main love for stam sorc. I'm not happy, mind you, that i am a purple flavored night blade, but thats what the devs want us to be I guess.

Ahhh, I don’t feel qualified to answer that. From my own limited experience, I can only say that regular energy orbs are certainly appreciated.

Based on what I’m reading on AlcastHQ and the advice I’ve been given by a vet raid healer, buffing group damage is expected in harder content, with at most a monster set to boost sustain (in addition to requisite energy orbs).

Lost some. Enough that I need to change things up somehow.

My stamina DDs sustain keep up with some difficulty, especially with race like Orc.
The real problem, at least for me, is the sustain with the magicka DDs, for me is terrible.
The only way to avoid it is by using FG or VO set, but you going to lose some dps, maybe with perfect FG set not so much.

    It's definitely been nerfed.

Fortunately, I created all of my Magicka characters as Bretons (and vampires!), so I am not feeling it as harshly as some others.

Definitely cannot run non-sustain foods like in the past though, so I've been making a ton of Witchmother's for trials and sometimes even the Magicka Orzorga's in dungeons/arenas with no/sketchy healers.

It also locks False God's into my loadout, which I don't love, as it is a) annoying to be so pigeon-holed and b) for raw damage that set is pretty mediocre. But lack of sustain is even more annoying than lower damage, so FG it is for the time being.

    Thx for all the return.
I'll try many run with olo/hollow/sympho and see how it's going for the group as soon as I can since the magi user seem to be the more impacted.

I build for heavy sustain because I hate weaving/animation cancelling. I don't like the clunkiness of pressing 1-5 and LMB back to back every second in combat. Its fatiguing.

So, because sustain took a huge poo I find myself not really wanting to engage combat as much. Ohh well game seems like a dumpster fire to me anyway.

Still able to do the content I was able to before U24.

I do have to think about resource management more. The biggest single change is that I don’t run from fight to fight in dungeons, I wait until my resources are full before starting. Or I will have issues during the fight.

    That seems perfectly reasonable.

No change at all but it has nothing to do with orbs/shards.

It has to do with the fact that I’m not terrified of heavy attacks.

In between the "I lost a bit" and apocalypse options.

As a mag player, I feel like at least one change is REQUIRED to help sustain... Be it permanently using False Gods (ideally perfected), swapping out spell damage jewelry enchants for magicka regen ones, or using an absorb magicka enchant on your back bar instead of a berserker, SOMETHING seems to be required that involves sacrificing a bit of DPS for sustain.

My magden gets by by using perfected FGD and keeping the netch up. My magplar is currently wearing Grothdarr and imperfect FGD and makes heavy use of Channeled Focus. I don't really play on my magblade much, but she seems to be doing ok provided I keep Siphoning Strikes up.

It's annoying, but not misery making.

It is a boring and unneeded change for the game. You can adjust your builds with glyphs, certain sets, and food to make up for it.

It will be more noticeable to probably console players and players that have a mediocre rotation.

I guess, this was a lazy way to try to help the game's performance which didn't work, go figure. :o

You still can be a Craglorn fireworks spammer though :D

Can any magDKs say how it hit them? I have virtually no investment in sustain outside of CP points. It's still 3 more days until we have it on console, but the worries are real.

I feel like I might get lucky and things will balance out, sure Elemental Blockade is going to cost more with less overall DPS, but with the impending 23% buff I'll get to the Searing Heat it might cancel out. Plus the Combustion buff might help more.

I'm thinking that I might get lucky and actually be buffed with the changes... but it isn't in my hands to test and know for sure.

Would love to hear some anectdotes.

@lagrue I get 500+ regen from the new combustion, it is really crazy. Though I do front bar bsw, so that adds some burning procs.

It's something I have to pay attention to now and I didn't really ever have issues before...still playable in solo, might be problematic in vet trials, haven't tried since patch.

Awesome, I run BSW as well, pretty much a pure fire build. So I'm looking forward to seeing it in action.

With my Magden i had to switch things up and add up to 2 heavy attacks to my rotation even when having 1900 regen but i manage to keep 35k DPS on the 3mil and complete it.

As Templar, with 80% of the kit suffering two 40% nerfs in a row, I'm not left with much to work with. Hell, even the few spells that went up in Scalebreaker (like Entropy and Soul Trap) went right back down in Dragonhold.

Seems to me that DoTs are not worth the GCD (not to mention crippligly expensive) and I should rather just keep spamming Puncturing Sweep and light attacks only. The problem is, I can't really do that either, because I have to keep using Blazing Spear for group synergy, Solar Barrage for light attack buff and Unstable Wall of Elements to get the enemies off-balance, or my dps goes down EVEN FURTHER.

    It's a nightmare.
At this point I'm just logging in for a couple minutes to do the crafting dailies, festival and dragon dailies (didn't get a single motif page still), then go back to playing Skyrim SE.

    Entirely class dependant.

My magDK sustain is surprisingly good after removal of Combustion CD. Don't forget to slot Flame Enchant on your Infused Maelstrom Inferno Staff. That solves a lot.

On the other hand, I can't sustain on magplar without Spell Symmetry included in rotation. I feel sustain issues on this class the most.

My melee magnecro does absolutely most dps out of all magicka classes while having zero sustain issues. You can run Clockwork Citrus Fillet without having to invest into hp thanks to necro hp passive.

My petsorc (duo inferno) is ok after putting 1x mag recovery glyph on a piece of jewelry. Could have some sustain improvements tho. Breton, infused absorb magicka, recovery glyph on jewelry and I still feel like I need a little bit more sustain.

Depends on if I make mistakes and how bad those mistakes are. If I manage to not accidentally cast inner light or hard cast frags because I was expecting it to proc then I do alright on my Sorc. Im running the Atronach Mundus though. I've yet to be able to get FGD as I gave mine away to friends.

I havn't been on my Magplar or mDK. My PvP sDK is fine with no stam sustain sets even in noCP as I run Ultigen.

My DK Tank uses a Lightning staff and has almost 2k Mag Recovery.
