Backlash - Should only show for yourself

Okay, probably not actually a bug and moreso an oversight. To follow the rules of all the other abilities... Backlash and morphs obvious animation should only show if YOU cast it, or if you have "show ally effects" turned on. Not sure how you are supposed to know when your backlash runs out without addons if there is more than 1 templar using the same morph as you.

    Very good question since they now stack in the new update. This really needs to be fixed.

    Per Update 24 Patchnotes
    • This ability and its morphs will now only store damage dealt from the caster of the ability, rather than anyone who hits the afflicted target. This was done to offset some of the staggering power (of the Light) the ability could bring in group situations, where low damage builds could apply the ability and generate free real estate from their allies’ contribution. Now, you have to put in the fervor to get the full power of these abilities.
    • Fixed an issue where these abilities would conflict with one another if more than one player cast the same morph of the ability on a target.

    Not only this but potl does crazy damage now that it can crit, at least in a pve setting.

    You assume that it’s only used for the damage. In PVE, this skill (PotL) is usually used as a debuff by healers. The animation is useful so everyone can see which target has been debuffed, and serves as an marker for DPS to focus something. Trials would be a lagfest if we had to turn on every ally effect to see this one.

Trials would be a lagfest if we had to turn on every ally effect to see this one.

    Okay you win on that one. Let the stamplars be confused. The magicka morph most definitely isn't used by healers because it doesn't do the debuff and only copies your own damage now though...

    Stamplars do use this skill in pve and not just healers. Maybe in organized trials but most of the time I don't see healers using it.

    I would suggest something should still be present for PotL debuff on the target as that is a group debuff. Granted, the visual effect should be significantly smaller than it currently is.

    Because of it's overwhelming presence it over powers other visuals we need to see. After all, it was Zos' vision we would get our information from the environment vs a UI>
