Knock Down Resistance Question

Question - my Magplar actually has a really good balance of offense (50k+ magicka, SP about 3K when easily buffed) and defense (24 and 23K resistances). I also use a 2 shield rotation with another 2 shields provided by passives and CP. For the most part I’m pretty good at absorbing a massive amount of burst damage.

My question is about knockdowns. It appears that my own true source of knock down resist are my immovability pots. Does anyone have a tip to better defend against knockdowns? Ideally one that can be done with a spell and not gear?

Open to ideas. My toon is pretty OP as is so having a weakness isn’t a big deal but I figured I’d see what the crowd thinks.

Knock downs in eso are called (hard) crowd controls (different from snares and roots, which are soft ccs, but people don't really refer to these 2 as ccs).

Anyhow, the only way to prevent a cc is to block or dodge the skill that ccs. If the cc passes block and/or dodge, you have to eat it and break free.

Yeah, that’s pretty much what I was thinking. I got a low stamina toon but I’ve become very good at managing my pool. I only dodge if absolutely necessary and my shields allow me to block less than most people.

I was kind of hoping ZOS added a spell that just negates knockdowns for 5-10 seconds or so. I used to use Mist Form but I stopped being a vampire a long time ago and really don’t want to go that route again.

There is immovable from the heavy armor skill tree, but it's really really really not worth it. Just build enough stam to never run out (12/14k should be enough if you don't dodge much and you don't have a stam weapon to heavy attack with), and train your reflexes in breaking free. 99% of kills on ok/good players come from ccs, it's one of the most fundamental mechanics of the game.

Yup ... totally agree and yeah the HA would break my build so that’s out but I appreciate the feedback.

All good. It’s really a nit pick on my part because my toon is already way out of balance so no biggie. I’ll just have to pick my spots a bit better and stop trying to tank 20 guys at once lol.
