"Pure Snow" Indrik - does it look more gold and silver than snowy?

I think there are too many gold highlights. It resembles the gold/yellow one too closely. It would have been nice if there had been silver highlights or none so that it looked more frosty and cooler. Oh well, it's free but yeah it is what it is. Not being able to login is more of a train smash for me.

How is the snowy indrik free? You have to grind to get it or spend crowns to buy the tickets to put it together? Please @ Ryath_Waylander explain how it's free? 😊

Killing one boss a day is hardly a grind. Out of all grindy things in this game (and in MMO's in general) I don't get why people are complaining about indriks. Getting tickets is always easy and takes no more than half an hour in the longest instances. This event? park your character near any dolmen in Alik'r desert or some delve/world boss, kill it and log out. Done. Hardly a chore, not to mention a grind.

You wanna grind? Try getting Soul-Shriven skin or Factotum poly that are hidden behind rng in group content or skins, pets and personalities hidden behind vet content.

Not even a boss, just park at one of those mini dolmens where like 2 waves of crappy daedra spawn. It counts and takes like 45 seconds

I don't know what I was expecting, but I was also very disappointed by the onyx indrik.

I thought the palette would be darker in general and IMO it looks metallic and tacky. Was looking forward to it since Q1.

I'll hold my expectations for the pure snow accordingly.

On PC(NA) at least it's parked at the Impresario right now. It's Q4.

I love it, and I'm SUPER excited for it because it's the only mount that promises to be as shiny and white-and-gold as my templar's outfit. There has been no mount worthy of him yet, I think this one will do it. :D

It's pretty, I'll give you that. But maybe the name could fit better.
Would you call / describe your white-and-gold templar "Pure Snow"?

When it's called "Pure Snow" I sort of expected something warmer-friendlier like Frosty the Snow Man.

Oh no, he's a dirty minded lil sonuvagun. But I mean, they called the gunmetal colored one "Onyx" so they are clearly going for artistic interpretation rather than any sort of accuracy (and that's even setting the "onyx isn't black" pet peeve aside). I think when it comes to names of stuff, if you look at the holiday season it's being released during and that it's predominantly white with some gold trim, close enough.

Besides, maybe it's really innocent and virginal. We don't know it. We haven't met it yet. It might be super prudish and not get our off-color jokes.

@Recent no need to be facetious. It's free because nobody pays me to play the game. I don't have to pay crowns to buy it. If you regard your "grind" time as currency, then I wonder why you play the game.

The word game has the intrinsic implication that it is fun and entertaining. It's not a grind for me because really, 1 dolmen a day for tickets is not a grind, unless you're entitled enough to think that you deserve event tickets just magically appearing in your inventory.

In any case, you're off topic, which, as you seem to have forgotten, was a discussion of the indarik's colour. Oh well.

Michae already covered the grind part, and maybe the crown store option is there for lazy people with too much money on their hands, but it's also useful for people that missed out on an event due to RL problems, or people who got into ESO after a given quarter started.

I'm curious, though, what would it take for the indriks to be truly free in your eyes?

Kind of yeah, but there are so few "frosty" type mounts in game, I really want it for one of my characters.

Sadly, for the first time having looked into how to get these mounts, it seems nigh on impossible, particularly during an event only lasting a week or 2, where a max of 2 event tickets are available per day.

    I need 4, FOUR berries...

I have a normal Nascant Indirik, I have the white berries Impresario has for sale just now... but the guide seems to suggest I need another 3 types of white berries... no idea what I am doing really. I guess I will need to look it up properly but I felt so disheartened realising I could not get the mount I wanted.

@Grianasteri No need to worry. You can get 2 tickets per day., are 6 days left (7 if you can login Monday morning) which means you can earn 12-14 tickets. You can only buy 1 berry per event, so you only need 10 tickets this event. No pressure.

The next 3 events will offer the next 3 white berries. At the end of the quarter, when you have 4 berries. Combine them with your nascent indarik, if you want the white one.

There are 4 types of berries, Budding, bloom, growth and ripeness. Don't buy more than one of each type. Each colour series has 4 berries each.

Thanks for that simple explanation, that makes things clearer. I had more or less come to that understanding anyway, but you have confirmed the other 3 types of berry will be available in the next 3 events, which I was unsure about

Still very annoying I have to wait until like, January to get it! I got this events white berries, so job done for now.

I agree a proper snow theme would have been nice, and reasonable to expect. But personally I really like the shimmers and slightly opalescent vibe. Iridescent? One of those.

I noticed this too. I always check out the new indrik at the start of each quarter and that's the first thing I noticed about this one, the name implies it will be mostly/entirely white but it looks more gold and silver. I tried putting the luminous (gold) indrik next to it and the comparison made that one look more yellow and brown. If it was up to me the pure-snow indrik would be white all over with silver where the gold bits currently are.

It doesn't put me off getting it (but then this was already one of the ones I'm less interested in) but it does change which characters of mine are likely to use it, and when.

Because it does not cost any money. That is the usual definition of free.

No sane person is going to complain that a free item in real life is not really free because you have to go out and get it instead of them coming into your house to put it in your hand. Likewise no sane person is going to claim that an item in a game costs money - is not free - because you have to unlock it by playing the game instead of simply having it added to your account.

Don't panic - it's not possible for anyone to get the pure-snow indrik during this event, and you're well on your way to unlocking it.

You do need another 3 white berries, and those will be available from other events through November and December:
    • Undaunted Celebration - 14th - 17th November - 15 tickets & second berry becomes available
    • Dawn of the Dragonguard - 26th November - 8th December - 28 tickets & third berry becomes available
    • New Life - 19th December - 1st January - 30 tickets & fourth berry becomes available

Each of the berries will cost 10 tickets, so if you've got the nascent indrik and the first berry you only need another 30 tickets to unlock the pure-snow indrik. There's another 73 tickets available during this quarter (not counting those still available from the Witches Festival) so even if you miss some days or want to buy other items too you'll be able to get them.

Personally I like to try and end each event as close to 10 tickets as possible, but that's because I can never be sure when I'll be going away and unable to play so it ensures I can get a new berry from the next event even if I can only log in for a few minutes during that event. I know I'm going to miss most of New Life (I'll be able to get tickets on 2, maybe 3 days at the start and another 3 days in the middle) but that's all, but even that will be enough to get a berry.

To me it looks like snow at sunset/sunrise with the faint gold highlights and subtle hints of frosty blue you get when you see snow in the early evening or morning. Snow glistens and reflects all kinds of colors, so I really like it the way it is.

Yes - around here we have so many gorgeous mornings with snow on the ground. When the sun is rising, you get every color on the snow, from deep blue shadows to lavender through peach to yellow glow; then when the sun is fully up, the shadows deepen under trees to an even darker blue, while the glow off the top of the drifts is sparkly gleamy gold and silver.

The Dawnwood and Onyx are lovely - but THIS is the one I've waited all year for!

This is not just snow but Pure Snow. It's the platonic ideal of snowiness. Not like the stuff we get here in real life which is full of soot, bacteria, industrial fallout and microplastics.
