Someone did a great job

Whoever was responsible for conceptualizing and implementing the Glenmoril Wyrd Treasure Maps did a great job. They're simple to follow, easy to find, and visually awesome. This is a fantastic addition to the Witch's event, and a great model for future event Outfit hunts. The person (or team) responsible should be commended and given more opportunities to produce awesome content like this.

I wish it wasn't as easy though, I prefer the treasure map version where you get a visual hint instead of the actual location. But otherwise I totally agree. Really exciting to find the purple beam. :#

I would never in a million years solve a single one of those "visual hint" maps without the internet. I prefer having adequate information built-in directly to the game, instead of switching back and forth to other screens. Console is usually a big headache for map hunt for stuff like this, but this time it's smooth sailing (finally).

I understand your point of view. Though I don't think it would be as hard if there was a purple beam (or something similiar) instead of dirt that you can barely see at times. I've been frustrated at it as well, but I'm explorer at heart so usually recogonise the places :p It's a fun challenge for me.

    You’re right, @evvelito.

There’s a very thin line between “I prefer having adequate information built-in directly to the game” and “I need instant gratification without looking for places ... even if it’s a large purple beam in the sky”.

That purple beam has zero benefit when you're 30 miles away looking at the wrong "broken tree with a rock or maybe a turtle next to it". Picture clues suck. This might sound crazy but I kinda think "treasure maps" should be... well, maps. That means overhead views of the landscape as seen from above, not drawings of scenery.

I agree, the picture ones are to obscure.

I mean, im also mostly in this game for the exploration, but a lot of the treasure and craft maps dumbfound me.

Well, in that case why not just have a quest marker so you won't have to use your brain? Personally I think the idea of seeing a beam or something in the distance if you are somewhat near the location is way more rewarding (without pin-pointing the exact location on the map). As it is now, you could be at the exact spot but still miss the dirt pile. Would make it ten times easier if there was a proper visual marker if you are on the right track. But yay for instant gratification, I guess.

I was pleasantly surprised that the Glenmoral maps were so user friendly.

I don't have hours to explore a whole zone based on a sketch from a specific viewpoint. Pretty cool that you have the time and patience though.
