Life without a craft bag..

Since so many EU players are unsubbing lets share some tips on the hellish life after sub.

We'll miss the access to unbought DLC of course but the craft bag is the thing.

Before eso+ I used to use my guild bank for low level mats and kept everything I needed stashed on seperate crafters with big inventories. It was hard to do writs.

Now that there are so many extra style stones, plants, housing materials and plenty of stuff we want to store maybe they can.....

...Increase bank capacity.

Nothing hellish here. A couple of storage houses for furniture, a couple of mule characters and all storage chests. And selling or deconstructing everything I don't need. All needed materials in bank for easy access. If you have guild bank in addition to it life without craft bag won't be an issue.

That crafting bag was the main and major reason I resubscribed immediately when I came back to play the game. Its a heck of a perk to have a bottomless crafting bag available.

I've never subscribed, just because I don't like subscriptions. I do like hoarding. It takes gold and time.

When ESO+ trials come around, stuff your Crafting Bag full of mats so you only have to deal with incoming mats from farming/writs. You can save your mats from farming and writs in the interim. How much you want depends on your gold and how many daily writs you do. If the anniversary event is coming up, plan ahead, and buy enough mats to cover all your alts doing daily writs.

Hoard your unused and once-meta sets you don't want to regrind on mule characters. I have two. 60 to 90 slots is quite a bit of space for gear sets and fairly cheap in gold.

Invest in Housing Storage for your mats. I used the 60-slot boxes for surveys, mats from writs, and writs I wanted to save. But seriously, sell or vendor whatever you don't need to keep. Low level mats and provisioning mats are so cheap you don't need to save most of them. Doing writs on a lot of characters means doing regular inventory management - I recommend only sorting through rewards every couple days because the boxes take less space than the rewards.

Finally, be judicious with your hoarding. Those old sets that you thought were amazing when you were first running dungeons? It might be time to get rid of my old Combat Physician pieces. :) Those event rewards you are hanging onto in hope the prices rise in 6 months? Think about whether you really need the profit or whether you want the space.

Not having ESO+ and still having a manageable inventory is entirely possible. It does mean investing time and gold into ESO (or crowns), and it does mean you can't hoard to the same extent as you used to be able to.

If investing more time and Gold into ESO seems like something you don't want to do given that its still suppprting the game after you dropped ESO+ to make a statement, well, that's something you'll have to figure out for yourself.

The craft bag is, indeed, a great convenience.

When I had it available I picked up everything - all mats including ore, wood, hides, plants, runes, etc. Doing so took time away from adventuring but that was OK.

What I found was that I was not using all the stuff I picked up - except for weapon/armor ones. I am sitting with many thousands items in the inactive craft bag that I never seem to find a use for.

I realize this is my playing style so certainly respect those who do gather and use them frequently.

Without the bag I only pick up ore, wood and leather armor items. It certainly does make the game move faster.

I DO miss the storage of items that are of no use while I am adventuring which requires more frequent visits to sellers.

I would like to see the craft bag be a DLC (US$4.99 a month, perhaps) for non ESO+ subscribers.

Of course, this will never happen as the craft bag is likely the main selling point of ESO+

    Ah, well.....

It's all about state of mind, man (and maxed inventory on lots of characters). Nobody really needs the craftbag. You just have to reassess the way you play without it.

I have all character's inventory maxed, bank maxed, all housing chests and of course I have a second account, where I send stuff to I want to sale at the guild trader, but don't have free spots for. (Actually my second account is member of a minor trading guild, too and selling lots of junk items like intricate armor and weapon pieces etc.)

The most important thing for me was stop doing daily crafting writs. Also I have dedicated "material collectors", for example one character collects all trait and style items, another one all alchemy, one collects enchant and provisioning and my mule character collects all the other mats.

I only keep CP 160 materials on my main account and send lower CP materials to my second account.

I only play 3-5 characters from my 10 characters (main account) regularly, although I only have 1 dedicated mule, I am filling up my other characters I don't play often inventory with stuff.

I often collect stuff I know I don't want to keep, but I need some time to decide what to do with it (sell, sell at guild store, decon), although after doing pledges etc. So this stuff fills up my bank and inventory space until I start deconning and selling and then my inventory gets filled up with materials and I have to log on several characters to mule the material around. This is very time consuming and annoying.

The problem are new sets I want to collect and old sets I don't use currently, but want to keep. Many of those sets are bound, so I can't send them to my second account. Also I need lots of free bank space, so I can mule stuff around, I don't have every set twice or thrice etc. for every character, for example I only have one set of perfected False God, so when I want to do something with a magicka class I need to mule my false god set and so on... For stamina characters it might be I need to mule three sets at the same time from one character to another depending on what I want to do, additionally I need free bank space if I need to free up inventory because I don't have time to decon stuff etc.

In my opinion house chest space should be increased from 30->50 for the small chests and 50->100 for the big chests. Bank space should be increased 240->300 (without Eso+) / 480->600 (with Eso+).

Character inventory limit of 200 would be fine.

And make those damn sieges stackable or add a siege bag which I can buy in the crown store!

Buy extra account(s) when on sale.

Extra account 1 Guild seller, place in 5 trading guilds. Character order on this account is based on all toons doing daily writs and receiving hireling mails.
    Character 1 mail receiver, deconner
    Character 2 hold extra furnishings
Character 3 hold alchemical ingredients and bait
    Character 4 hold JC mats
    Character 5 hold enchanting mats
Character 6 hold trait and style mats
Character 7 hold provisioning mats and fish not yet filleted
Character 8 hold wood, cloth, leather, ingots
Bank keeps items required for writs

Extra account 2 hold over flow full stacks you don't want to sell from account 2, also hold holiday items, motifs and recipes if not intending to sell immediately. One character dedicated to holding master writs till ready to do them

Utilize the free 30 day storage system(Mail inactive explayers), when the mail comes back consider you didn't need the items for 30 days and it may be a good time to sell in guild stores or destroy.

Stock jewelery, alchemy, food and gold/purple crafting material.
Stock on alts (got 6 with 200 space, more than enough)
Sell the rest with merchant guild.

And you still have access to what is in your craft-bag, so you've time to find solution ^^

a guild that shares a guild bank is the solution you are looking for. keep all your colored ats in your own bank. plus ant=y mats you need for daily writs. when you run out of space for all the other non writ or colored mats stuff, put those in the guild bank. Roomba addon is your friend for sorting your guild bank.
