What's up with Naryu?

I finished the Dark Brotherhood quest line long ago. Sometime after that, I noticed Naryu Virian pop up in Saint Delyn's Canton. I talk to her, she gives me a warning, but there's no quest involved as far as I can tell. Then she goes away for a long time. After being away for months, she suddenly pops up again, gives me the same warning, still with no quest involved, then goes away for a long time. After a while, she comes back again, and the whole cycle just keeps repeating. Am I supposed to be doing something to trigger a quest, or is this just an annoying "atmospheric" behavior on her part? Is it supposed to be hinting of something to come, or what?

well u can read her here
    https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Naryu_Virian

*After the Quest, At the St. Delyn Waistworks (After completing the Sweetroll Killer quest on the Gold Coast).

"Do you remember that incident on the Gold Coast? That thing with the sweetroll and the Fate-Bearers? Well, I received another message.""
Another threat? Is the killer back again?
"No. This was more of a warning. And a disappointing one, as far as that's concerned. At least the previous notes came wrapped in a tasty treat. This just came in an envelope. But it wasn't just for me. It was addressed to you as well."
    What does the note say?
"Oh, nothing too terrible. Just that we may have altered fate's path, but one danger has been replaced with another. The flames have become shadows, "a spreading darkness that will consume the world." It's kind of beautiful. Creepy, but beautiful."
What do you think it means?
"Not a damn thing. It's just more of that Fate-Bearer nonsense. Spooky predictions designed to unsettle the reader. But Naryu Virian doesn't spook that easily. And neither do you. Still, watch your arse around shadows for awhile. Just in case."*

you can check if u did her quests if not, maybe some is half finished?

That's all there is to it. She appears from time to time for a chat, and so far there is no indication that any of it is a hint of things to come. Sounds more like a brush off to me, which is not surprising given the circumstances, but no spoilers eh?

Wrong conversation with Naryu. Looks like there's a third one at the end of the Naryu Vvardenfell quest that I haven't had with her yet.

It's all a part of the prophecy Naryu received relating to her "daughter" in the Sweetroll Killer quest from the Dark Drotherhood DLC. If you've completed that quest, as well as the Balmora questline in Vvardenfell, it should make sense. It also hints at the events of Summerset. I've detailed the whole plotline below, but it does spoil major things for both the Morrowind and Summerset chapters.
Basically, the prophecy said that Naryu's daughter would cause the end of the world, but Naryu dismisses the whole thing as false as she obviously does not have a daughter. What the prophecy hinted at, though, were the events in the Morrowind chapter/DLC, where Naryu's apprentice, Veya Releth (who was like a daughter to her, especially considering Naryu's title, "The Mother of Blades", given to her by the Morag Tong once she took Veya as an apprentice) attempts to destroy House Redoran by killing off everyone in the council. If such a thing was allowed to happen, it would undoubtedly cause some big problems within Morrowind, as House Redoran would most likely crumble under the power struggle and the other houses claiming their lands and property - an "end of the world" for House Redoran.

As for the letter Naryu receives and tells you about, it hints towards the events of Summerset, where Veya canonically ends up (it doesn't matter if you spared her or let Naryu kill her, in the end Naryu is incapable of killing her and sends her off in secret) after the whole deal in Vvardenfell. On the trip, the Daedric Prince Nocturnal whispers to Veya and manages to sway her to become her champion, her "Earl", as the Daedric Triad (Nocturnal, Mephala & Clavicus Vile) plot to take control of the Crystal Tower. Since Veya is helping Nocturnal achieve her goals - using the Crystal Tower to end the current Kalpa so she can become the "central God" in the next one - she is directly helping in causing the end of the world. Thus, the line "The flames have become shadows, a spreading darkness that will consume the world" in the letter Naryu received.

You have to give ZoS' writers credit for this stuff. They practically gave away their major plotlines months in advance in the form of cryptic prophecies. It's ingenious, really, and I for one love when they do stuff like that. It also makes the DB DLC a lot more interesting and meaningful considering the whole story of ESO, instead of it being just a random side story during the time period.

Okay, so basically it's supposed to be a foreshadowing of something that comes later, which is what I figured.

But it doesn't seem to make sense, because I did the content out of order:

Completed all Morrowind quests, including the ones involving Naryu.

    Completed all Dark Brotherhood quests.

Completed all Summerset quests, except for one geyser and two world bosses.

I think the first time she showed up in Saint Delyn was around the time Summerset was released, but she disappeared after I spoke with her. The thing is, after being gone for months she'll suddenly show up again, then disappear after I talk to her, and then a few months later it repeats again.

Now she's back again, and I spoke with her and she went away again-- except that a day later she's back again.

Yeah, there's been a bit of a problem with "doing content in the wrong order" (whether deliberately or, most commonly, accidentally) ever since ZoS released One Tamriel, and with each subsequent chapter putting new players directly in teh middle of the storyline, rather than having them start from the Planemeld.

If you spared Veya, Naryu appears at Vivec City docks sending her off, and if you've completed the Sweetroll Killer quest, she'll appear in one of the cantons to tell you about the letter. As for why she seems to spawn so erratically for you, I couldn't say. Maybe only one of the specific doors triggers her spawn or something /shrug

For the longest time she was at the dock by Saint Delyn sending off her "daughter," and I never noticed when they finally went away. In fact, for all I know, they're still there! (Checking...) Nope, they're gone, and have been for a long time now.

But now Naryu is still up in the canton, near one of the down-sloping corridors that goes down to the entrance to the outlaws refuge. It seems like she's there pretty consistently now, although I have no idea what's changed in the last week that's got her where I take it she's supposed to end up, or why she kept disappearing from there before this week.

Anyway, as long as I know this is where she's supposed to end up, I'll just ignore her from now on. I was just confused by the way she would go away, then show up again. Normally when I come out of the penthouse (my main housing), I go around the canton taking everything that's worth anything, then head down to the outlaw's refuge to fence it. But for the last few days I've just skipped the thieving and headed straight down to the outlaws refuge to check on the silent supplier, although I don't know why that change of routine would make a difference. Maybe something to do with Update 24?
