I had a bugged quest and following the advice of people, I dropped it, thinking it will give me a chance to pick up the quest again. No, it doesn't. It's a Southern Elsewyr quest so there is next to no help anywhere. Now I won't be able to finish that questline due to a bugged quest.

And before you start saying you have to do the prolog, it was "Order of the New Moon" which is midway through the questline. I've done the prologue twice already.

I had the same problem in the room with the Dragon "Talk to the Dragon". I did not talk to him, logged out. Hours later logged in again, Dragon was gone, Quest still active. I dropped the Quest and I had to start aaaaalll over again an the Southern Elswyer Waypoint. Do NOT drop a quest atm in Southers Elsweyr! I posted this also in Bug Reports.

If a quest bugs do the following things FIRST:

    STEP ONE: /reloadui
If that doesn't fix your issue then go to...
STEP TWO: RELOG. Completely exit and restart the game.
If that doesn't fix your issue then file a support ticket or ask on the forums.

99.9% of the time one of those two options will fix the issue. Since 1T ive only ever seen 3 quests out of the THOUSANDS in ESO that are legitimately requiring a patch or support action.
