Let's take a second and evaluate the overall feel of PvP. After this tumultuous PTS cycle what are people feeling? I dont want this to degrade into a class specific nerf or buff thread this is about the feel of PvP and the overall direction this patch has gone in and is it the right direction or wrong? My personal feeling is this patch is a vast improvement over last patch. We are going to run into some issues as the weeks go by of course but overall my first impressions are that I like the direction this is headed. I feel really powerful again and more like I have control over the out come of the fight, the snare changes are really helping and so far I really like where DoTs are at. Even though twin slashes is about half the damage it was, I think it was too strong and now have Master DW feels still beneficial wtihout being way over the top.

    EDIT: My point is people that will post now are almost 99% certainly knee-jerking off the patch notes.

    Sure, I’ve just a couple of sessions so far and rn I’m very excited about how this patch feels.

    I've only clocked in a few hours by now, but right away it seems there is a discrepancy between HoTs and DoTs.

    HoTs seem to greatly outperform DoTs now and that is bad for PvP (unless you're stamina, of course).

    I think that was the intention no? You’re not supposed to be able to rely on a couple of dots to negate healing. You either gotta go out of your way to stack DoTs in a specific build or you need to start actually weaving direct damage, being smart about burst etc. This is what I noticed immediately is players who can’t do this are struggling.

    Yesterday PT Performance (non CP) was rly good, but i think we doesnt reach 3 faction pop lock. Stam NB feels much better with relentless focus change and i think gameplay was much better. but that was only the first day, maybe it changes.

    First night out was great, but later in the evening the map got stale. think about the only thing burst was Chal milegate for like 2 hours and wasn't going there.

    There are some good changes and some bad changes, but what irks me is how they basically ruined what modicum of offensive-PvP viability Magicka Necromancer had. Maybe the new iteration of the Colossus would be good if you're in the right sort of premade group, but otherwise? The class seems like total garbage now.

    Edit: I should add that even if you're using the Colossus with a coordinated premade, the debuff can be cleansed and so may get instantly countered at times.

    A waste of time. They buffed dots to just nerf them even harder. Instead of working on new content, they wasted so much development time and resources tweaking existing content.

    Just get the game to a decent competitive level among differing classes and focus the their energy on making the game playable. Fix the server performance.

    The change to skeletal mage was total overkill.

    It's not a traditional DoT per se, and you can't control who it targets. Therefore the damage should be considerably higher.

    It's almost only useful for the resource increase it gives.

    I've done about 2 hours of PVP in this patch with my MagDen on the same build as before, And I can feel the difference. Damage is lowered but at the same time Survivability has gone up as well.

    So at this point i'm having mixed emotions about state of Game-play. Of course I miss some of the old skills which were kinda essential for my game-play but now with new replacement skills, it's time ti relearn the new Combat style and get better with it.

    Still too early to tell, but I am cautiously optimistic. Performance seemed better last night than it had been for a very long time. Of course, that may have been a result of many players being in carebear land instead of Cyrodiil. The map did stagnate at around 9-10 PM Eastern, but prior to then, the fights were great. I tried out the new Poopfist on my DK and it isn't awful. Last night was a lot of fun, hopefully it continues.

    Feels like they took quite a big chunk of my dps in pvp and the tank meta is back too. Don't think it's improvement at all.

    I can't say for sure either way... yet.

    I'm glad to say goodbye to Dizzy spam and DOT cheese. Ball of Lightning is finally working as an effective escape tool. But...

    That CRIT on Purifying Light is totally crazy! What were they thinking? I can't wait to run into a Stamplar - I'm sure POTL will be even worse. I predict Templars will be EVERYWHERE, even worse than last patch.

    Skeletal mage should give major sorcery at least for the cost and poor damage in pvp. Would love to use it instead of degeneration but I don’t see the point.

    Othe than that my first impression is people seem to be more tanky from a couple of hours playing last night

    The patch is really good. A lot of the people who were either crutching on dizzy swing combos for kills, or on ranged dots alone are having trouble adapting.

    Unfortunately, in nocp BGs, mag sorc feels a bit over tuned now due to their ranged burst, kill securing, and mobility.

    Healers also feel a bit too impactful in nocp bgs and make the time to kill way too slow, and the overall pace of the game a little boring sometimes.

    Overall it’s a great patch and the gameplay is significantly improved

    So far I really like the patch: damage is more manageable even when I don’t play with my magplar.
    It’s great that I manage not to melt even without being able to actively purge DoTs.
    I also don’t miss the 2 buttons dizzy spammer players

    Tanky chars seem a tad more annoying but they’ve always been annoying to fight 😬

    The two hander has been hobbled.
    Healing is now dominant.
    stam class is borked without heals.
    definitely slower and more frustrating.
    I'm sure i'll figure out the 4 new over powered skills but ZOS changed the oldest reliable go to skills into ***.
