Remove MMR in Battlegrounds

The MMR system for battlegrounds only works well if the population of players queueing for BGs is high. But recently its doing the opposite of what its intended to do, because the population of players queueing is so low. Let me explain.

Team one will always be 3+ premade, team two will always be 2+ premade or a combo of 2 duo groups, team three will always be a group of randoms with one person who knows what they're doing. Can you guess what team will be farmed for kills?

This isn't on my high MMR toon, this is on characters that I'm still learning how to play. I can even get a daily done because the remade groups win and then they keep coming back because they keep winning. Most people just stopped playing battlegrounds for this reason, nobody wants to come in last place 5 plus matches in a row.

Premade groups are killing off battlegrounds. Solution: Get rid of the MMR ranking system. The perfect counter balance to premade groups is already in the game, but they're all stuck in high MMR matches.

That's solo queueing for ya, it's the same in CSGO. If you want to minimize this, you gotta use your soft skills and "make friends" and queue as a group while using voice comms. If you just want to roll the dice and hope for the best, then definitely go ahead and turn off those soft skills, and just solo queue. Or should I say, solo "QQ".

Split solo que and group que is more important

That one way to say "i wanna farm randoms".

They should attempt to split solo and group queues, as well as prioritize matches between players with the daily active versus those who have already completed the daily.

EDIT TO ADD: I played a game with the objective for the PVP daily at 2 matches, with wins counting as 2. That way, even getting matched against premades, at worst you get farmed for two matches and complete the daily.

    Why is that a solution?

They should expand the capabilities of battlegrounds instead

    1. MMR: random: Will not allow groups to enter
    2. MMR: Premade: Allow the ability to enter as a guild or team name for ranks. Allow the creation for bracket systems so there could be tournaments.
    3. Mixed (no mmr or premade): Regardless of ranking, mmr, everyone is in the same pool

Sounds good in theory, but not sure if the pool of potential players is enough to meet the need for these three different options. For games that are mainly PvP, this type of setup is great. But honestly I don't have enough data to know if BGs are popular enough for this implementation, it just feels like BGs are actively played by only a minority of the playerbase.

If that was done probably one of the sides would end up with long queues due to low population
Jack of all trades. Master of at least one.

Important to note that a lot of the time, the “premade” you’re fighting happens to be bunch of solo players that happen to play synergistically with eachother. A lot of the time I see someone on my team complain about a premade when I know that it’s a fully random team.

I leveled up a brand new Warden without doing any BGs. Now that the patch is out, I got me some shiny new gear and wanted to test it out.

After six matches, literally, 6 matches with a brand new character, I queued into a Deathmatch with the same sweaty top tier MMR folks I wanted to avoid by leveling up a brand new character.

    can’t make this *** up

    edit: my new build sucked

I’m pretty sure they’ve started doing “placement” matches.

My next toon I’m gonna intentionally tank my first 5 matches to see if it works.
