Using 5 pieces of the first two sets and 2 pieces of the last set (head and shoulders) works great for leveling up new magicka toons. It's easy for most players to learn three traits of the gear they need. Esp if they focus on learning the training trait for all their gear straight away. I'm very surpised i dont see sites recommending it for new players.

I simply must protest. There are no Penguin avatars for me to use in the forums.

BTW, I use arch too

As a new toon up to lvl 50 you use: Training Gear and just Training Gear.

Seducer + Julianos are what I used for all my mag toons :-)

Anything that has the training trait on it, honestly. Seducer and Julianos are my go-to ones. I crafted three different sets to use for levels 1 - 21, 22 - 35, and 36-50, and I just keep those in a chest at my house so I can easily use them. The first few characters I had made after my main, I only used level 1 training gear all the way to 50 as I was just grinding as quickly as possible. But it is nice to have some upgrade sets ready to use which makes doing daily randoms a little quicker.

    +1 to Seducer + Julianos

TBS is also nice with Steed (10% run speed) + whatever (Atronach, Mage, Lord...)

When I started, I needed some time to figure out the crafting system and was always behind my level to craft myself gear and everything was terribly expensive, I think that for magicka toons that start in elsweyr is much easy and better to find crafty alfiq and something from the rewards from battlegrounds, definetly much better than vanu's set form summerset.
But if you are already set up and you make a new toon no problem getting him crafted gear every some levels.

I have a Magicka and a Stamina training gear set for every 10 levels that I use on new toons. 1-50 is incredibly fast. Every piece has training trait, and they use the free login XP scrolls that I have piled up.

This. Simple and give max damage stats and some regen. If you can find some wisdom jewelry to round out the set then do it. Otherwise any jewelry.

We level up so fast and we are pretty OP, especially if you have decent CP, that there is not a point to overthink gear. I have leveled up some recent characters just with what dropped. No crafted sets. I even did this on an alt account that had no CP and did just fine.

If you have to use just one set for pve, I'd say Magnus Gift. If I'm pvping my way to 50 (my fav method), I'll use shacklebreaker. Julianos just doesn't have enough sustain, seducer is ALL sustain and no power, and I don't like to run two training sets, since I tend to wear training gear at lvls 10 20 30 and 40.

Julianos/Seducer would probably be very powerful though. I need shackle if I'm going to pvp for the extra stam help. Battlegrounds aren't fun when you cast 4 spells and have to stand around waiting for Magicka.

    Kagrenacs, Julianos, Shacklebreaker. All good.

If PvE I use Juli & Kags... nice blend of everything. If the charachter needs to unlock some pvp stuff then Kags & Shackle
