Help me pick a new character

My current main is a magicka pet sorc. That was my first character because I'd read it was easy. At this point, though, I am looking for something new. I've tried various classes and builds and can't seem to latch on to anything.

Anyone have a build to recommend?

I like to do dps but it does NOT have to be a top end dps machine build, it just has to be fun. Fun ability interactions, fun mechanics, fun sets? Guides online only recommend the meta.

Melee, range, stamina and magicka are all fine.

Hum, Id try a stamina character.

After being a caster melee stam can be a nice change of pace. Since you already play a sorc, maybe stamplar would be good. If you don’t mind being a sorc again you could try stam sorc.
Looking for any guildies I used to play with:
    Havoc Warhammer - Alair
LoC EQ2 - Mayi and Iskiab
PRX and Tabula Rasa - Rift - Iskiab
Or anyone else I used to play games with in guilds I’ve forgotten

I’ve got a dual bow wood elf nightblade that’s pretty fun.

Using Velidreth, Plague Slinger, Scavenging Demise.

Disease balls, exploding skeevers and a Scavenging Maw.

Not the best dps, but fun.

For PvE every class can be fun :) I think that magcro is pretty awesome.
    Say no to Toxic Casuals!
I am doing my best, but I am not a native speaker, sorry.

"Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game." - @AlexanderDeLarge

"Easy", "build", "dps", "fun" "fun", "fun"- do you have any lore-based preferences of what race to play, what Alliance, what factions? Or is it just the matter of dps and fun, so it's irrelevant for you it is an Elder Scrolls game actually you are playing?

Don't know very much about group content as I'm fairly new to the game despite my old account age, but I'm having great fun with my Stamplar and if fun is what you are mostly looking for I'd recommend it. I've also played her magika and that was fun too but way different feeling.

A lot of classes are so fun! I'm not good at dps-ing myself, but I think my favourites that I would recommend to others would be stamdens, magplars, magblades, and stamsorcs. I'm usually more of a fan of magicka based builds than stamina based ones, but Wardens, Sorcerers, and to a degree also Templars are the exception. :) I think it's also fun to try things that aren't recommended by the meta - my stamden uses bow/s&b, which is definitely a lot of fun. Or try to make a build around a more niche set that you still have lying around. I sometimes build around monster sets that I want to try out, and then go from there.

My actual main NB healer Khajiit, really love it.
Made it with a little back ground, and using Olo + Master Architect + Lotus fan skill + prayer = ton of buff for the group !
Chudan (cuz nb have *** access to majord ward/resolve) + phantasm and you'r very tanky.

Healing staff on precise to reach 47% crit rate (50+ if sorcerer in group) and Khajiit + NB gimme so good dmg/healing crit power.

Was bored to play templar/warden like every one. I've stop them and made this one, best choice I've made so far ^^

Well if its fun you want, Get a Mad Thinkerer Set, Sellistrix monster ser, Creat a Warden and use a frost staff but if you are running in dungeon remember not to heavy attack with frost. Watch the enemies hop like Mario and get stunned because of the dual proc and the bear mawing them on the floor. Lots of funny animations there , believe me☝🏼.

Yeah, if you're tired of a mag build, go Stam. Stamblade, Stamcro, and Stamden are all pretty cool. Hell, you could just respec your sorc into a StamSorc, and go to town. Don't even worry about changing your race if you don't want to spend a token (or don't have one.)

Fair, but if you're coming right off of a petsorc burnout, it might feel a bit too familiar.

Really depends on what class you like the theme of, they are all viable but all offer something a bit different. MagPlar really is easy mode for mag and it's got a nice flow.

No, it's not that emotional the way you've read it. I mean if it is only the matter of dps and fun then I'll have nothing to say, because I play the Elder Scrolls first and MMO the second. I won't change race and class whatever nerfs the devs make. If he plays the same way then I'll have some words of advice, if not - I'll just pass his question by.

Seems irrelevant to ZOS with all the lore breaking that goes on. Why should it matter to the players?

If you enjoy pets, the warden is a lovely class to play. The bear is great fun and if you solo often, the bear will act as a little tank for you in combat. My main is a mag warden. Since necromancers came out, that's the class I've enjoyed playing the most, I prefer mag necro by a small margin.

The only WB you wont clear while solo are the ones that really require teams.

Necromancer feels like old petsorc, but more dynamic. Periodic recycling of the temp pets, toss some flaming skulls, raise an explody-boy (now that they mostly appear on time and do something), gather corpses for faster ultimate, and all three ultimates are fun.
