Maybe if you don't care that Morrowind ended on a huge cliffhanger, or that Clockwork City makes no sense likewise without Morrowind...

My SO was extremely irritated that Clockwork City wasn't attached to Morrowind, regarding it as the actual resolution of Morrowind's story.

Oddly enough, I considered Summerset to be the conclusion of the Morrowind story. Clockwork City added to the story, but did not conclude it. We did not find out what was going on until Summerset.

That's correct, given that the Daedric Wars extends over the two Chapters and DLC.

My SO was simply particularly irritated at the lack of resolution to the cliffhanger of Morrowind, regarding it as a transparent marketing attempt to get people to buy the DLC instead of actually resolving the final conflict in Morrowind.

I accepted it, because I knew that ZOS was going to stretch out the story.

But that's sort of my point. The OP isnt alone in feeling annoyed that the Chapter isnt "complete" without a DLC...but Elsweur wasnt the first to do it that way.

Morrowind only gave you Vvardenfell. Stonefalls and Deshaan are base game zones.
Summerset only gave you the main Island. Auridon is a base game zone.
Elsweyr only gave you Anequina. Rearpers March is a base game zone and Pellitine is it's own DLC.

    Nothing new I guess.

You didn't get half a chapter, you got a full chapter. Elswyer is roughly the same size as the previous chapters, same amount of new land to explore, same amount of new quest content, and a new class.

    Is it?

I'm not trying to be obtuse but I'd swear the main story in Morrowind and Summerset took me quite a bit longer than Elsweyr's. I can knock the Elsweyr one out in a couple hours.

So you are really just going off an opinion using distant memory rather than facts.

BTW, you do not have to buy into the DLC if you do not want. If I truly believed I was being ripped off as you are suggesting I would cease *** business with the company in question. In this case I would delete the game. Zos is not going to give you the DLC based on your opinion as this is their current business model and they made things very clear early in the year.

So the question is do you really believe what you are saying or are you just blowing smoke to try to create a controversy?
