Ultra-Wide Screen should be banned

How can people get away with using ultra-wide screens. It is unacceptable that they gain an advantage.

ZOS should disable ultra-wide screen support so that these exploiters do not gain an unfair advantage over others. It is cheating and those that use this exploit should be banned.

Yeah, they should also ban those who use top of the range pc's, super fast fibre internet, Xbox X's and ps4 pros. I mean, won't anyone think of those who are still stuck with those day 1 consoles and the likes or those peasants that can only afford basic gaming pcs.

Yeah, it sounds ridiculous because it is ridiculous. Banning people because they happen to have a better piece of equipment. You're free to buy an extra wide, super duper monitor/tv too. Only thing stopping you is your disposable income or because you have other financial responsibilities. Nothing game related at all.

Based on your post you'd also consider ESO's field of view option an "exploit", because I can see more, right?

Glad this came up.

My monitor is starting to display it's age so looking at a replacement.

Currently it is a 16:10 30". Good field of view vertically, but I fancied a larger one. A direct replacement would have to be 16:9 32", but going widescreen it would be a 34" 21:9.

Now widescreen would be great horizontally - but I would loose 2" field of view vertically. Very bad. Think of dragon fights, first boss in Fungal Grotto, or final boss in Vaults of Madness. You do need that vertical height in ESO.

To get the same vertical height in a widescreen monitor, compared to a 16:9 or 16:10, I would have to buy a 38" 21:9 widescreen.

There's not many of these to choose from. I really like IPS screens - but most are 60Hz, and would need G-Sync to help gaming?

Any suggestions?
