What is this stupid RNG loot?

I just want to play the game, it is fun. Every time i want to get a complete set this stupidity comes. 2% weapon drop change from the final boss of a boring dungeon. If i want dual wield - s&b setup with the jewelry for pvp, i have to run a dungeon 200 times. And this is not an exaggeration. This is so stupid, who wants it, who asks for it, who implements it, i hope you really get a punishment somehow, the same way players are punished for wanting to get a set. You are just absorbing our precious time. Disrespectful. I am probably just going to stop this shitshow at some point. I dont have time for this stupidity. I am not a 12 years old playing video games all day in a room. If you are doing RNG, do it at least fair. Dont do it with 50 different items. Do it like Maelstrom, 15-16 items, and then it is at the very least bearable.

This is called playing an MMO rpg. It's not supposed to be something you clear in 20 hours. If you can't put in the time then find a game that you enjoy playing more.

Honestly, you guys deserve to be behaved like this. I am just a casual, i am gonna quit, not going to give my precious time for this stupidity. You just sit there, run the same dungeons 1000 times, then defend people make you do this. You deserve what you get, 100%.

Quests are extraordinary, there is super fun Cyrodiil PvP, there is amazing trials, yet we are running dungeons all day long just to get stuff we want to play the actual game. Is this what you call MMO rpg? Is this the definition? You want to try the Rattlecage with an ice staff on the backbar in Cyrodiil. Guess what, you have to run Vault of Madness 12 hours for the amazing Rattlecage ice staff. You want to try Amberplasm fire staff on the front bar, guess what, you have to run Ruins of Mazzatun 20 hours for it. MMO Rpg...

Or maybe come up with a build that does not rely on Dungeon Weapon drop....
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Yes. This is part of an MMO. I dont care if you're casual, for once in your life be informed about what you purchase and do some research. All RPGs have grinds like this and MMOs have an increased grind because unlike single player games there is no market to buy and sell gear making it easier to find. It's part of the game style. I'd you dont like it/can't put the time into it its not for you.

Nah, i am just going to buy loot runs, which i will pay with the gold i get from selling crowns. I just wanted to do it myself but i am not giving my time for this stupidity. You nerds can defend your 30 hour grind for a single weapon system, i am just gonna buy what i want, play the parts of the game that i actually want to play and have a life, too. Ok, have fun with running same dungeons over and over again. You most definitely deserve it. Have fun with your MMO rpg. This is just stupid. This is not the definition of MMO rpg. This is just another way of cash grab for the company. Players defending grind, lmao.

check to see if its able to be purchased at guild traders?
sometimes the sets are on sale, unless its bind on pickup.

also, try running the same dungeon on different alts, sometimes drops chances are better if different alt is used.

also try running in a group, sometimes drops are better when running with others.

i hope you find what you looking for, we all had to go through this to get the items we want in eso.
i waited 2 years for a specific helm i was looking for, it finally dropped. but it was a long road.

Everyone accepted it but this kind of grindy RNG loot IS NOT OK. Which game started this? This is not the definition of MMO rpg. Ultima Online did not have this. That was a real MMO rpg. This is grind, what we have here. This is GTA Online kind of grind. This is Fifa Ultimate Team kind of grind. This is not healthy. Grind is grind, it does not define any genre. And the only reason there is a grind in an online game is to either make more people play it or cash grab. And this is what every online game doing now.

For just a wee moment, I thought I was on the SWTOR forums :D Yeah, RNG is everywhere in MMOs and seems to be turning into the genre's driving force... or the planet's. Was at Target the other night, and there's now a whole aisle of RNG toys for the kidlets (LOL Surprise or something). Very few people actually like RNG, but it's an effective moneymaker and timesink. It plays right into some haywire aspect of our evolution.

At our core, we're all Skinner's rats.

Actually Ultima Online DID have it, you didn't get a guaranteed Vanquisher drop from every Ogre Lord and if one did drop it wasn't guaranteed to be useful to you.

RNG, grinding, dungeon runs etc etc are part and parcel of every MMO. If you can find one that doesn't have that then I suggest moving to that.

well, for how much do people do vdsa runs? 400k? It takes 30 min for them to complete probably. A normal dungeon, lets say 10 min for completion. Then it is 150k for the run. You are going to be 3, then 50k per person.

Lowest I've seen people advertise for vDSA is 800k and it takes about 30min to I'd say an hourish tops but let's go with 30min. If you double the price I think I could help you.

    You missed his point

    I actually support him

Would do the same anytime, cause I actually invest time in real life to make far more than enough cash to buy those runs myself with gold made from crowns.

That's what's sad about it and what his point was. Making people wanna spend the time playing a dumb game more than they should instead of investing that time into more important, more productive things that matter.

With leaving people out of this it's:

Happiness > Knowledge = Hobbies & New Skills > Career > All else.

If you consider an MMO game grinding a hobby then I don't even know what to say to you. It just makes me sad. Gaming in general? A fat YES. But an MMO grind? If you're not a streamer.... Get out lol... Nobody likes repetitive grinding. Nobody. Period. It's either addiction or something worse.

RNG is a disgusting game "mechanic" that sucks the meaning and fun out of games. It is employed for purely selfish reasons. It is not fun. It is not a good way to spend one's time. It is garbage, especially with the incredibly terrible RNG this game has.

Of course, as usual, you'll have people defend this. They'll either be younger and grew up with this and don't know what things should really be like, or they'll be older and beaten down into thinking it's fine.

Having to work harder for something rarer is fine. Having to do something hundreds of times for the tiny tiny random possibility it will drop is the height of unbearable. If people think that is what gaming is, then gaming is dead already.
