    No, not really. I go more by user names than avatars, so I don't get users confused because they're using the same avatar. But I do sort of form an impression based on the choice of avatar, even though I know that impression might be wildly inaccurate. If you've ever worked in phone support, you might know how it is when you talk to the customers and form mental pictures of them based on their voices, then you see a picture of them or meet them in person and they're nothing like you'd imagined.

    Meh. Kinda, but not really. On a scale of one to ten with one being not at all bothered and ten being losing sleep over it, it's maybe a two at most.

    It would probably bother me a little bit more if we had a much smaller selection to choose from.

    I'm a very visual person and know people on any forum by their avatar or signature picture, not by their name. So yeah, I get confused. But frankly I don't care. I'm not here to get to know anyone.

    No because there's a limited number of them, and we cannot upload our own. So it's inevitable that multiple people will have the same avatar, since there are many more forum users than avatars available.
