Now, are you using a build you put up together using your own combination of sets and skill rotation, and find it to be effective but you havent shared it with anyone? Then no.

So in the end. Just enjoy your build. You paid for the game, have your fun

I made my own build and haven't shared with anybody but it still got destroyed. I didn't understand how are you protected from nerfs in your second version.

its just keeping up with current balance changes.
just make slight adjustments to your build, and you still win fights in both pvp and pve.

My build hasn't changed in months, and that's only cause I swapped a set out. Even then it's so simple and common cause I don't really care. Whatever gets the job done right?

I had absolutely amazing non-meta build in this patch. It had great balance of damage, tankiness and sustain and was very fun to play. You don't believe - from 12 abilities, 5 are severely nerfed and 1 removed from the game. And there were no entropy, dizzy and soul trap in those.

I don't think a 2% difference in effectiveness is a make-or-break factor. In the event that an ability changes so drastically that I no longer use it for the same purpose, it is easy enough to swap things out. I cannot understand why people get so dramatic about balance changes on the forums.

This is why I use my own builds instead of doing the meta. Sure, I may not be as strong as the meta but I am less likely to get nerfed heavily.

I am using non-meta builds and they are nerfed regularly, like every patch.

Actually, I'm fine right now, because I'm playing a Necro, which they won't nerf heavily until next year's new class. Then my poor little Necro will go in the box with all the other nerfed-to-the-ground chars.

People disliked us but when the meta rollercoaster rolled in we went up and then got nerfed again...

The storyteller does not do "builds," she does characters. And Zenimax has never made changes so dramatic that they have risked destroying her characters.

- Level up crafting and research all traits ? What for ? ZOS will nerf the only useful crafted sets that there are...
- Farm mats to craft or upgrade my gear ? What for ? ZOS will nerf my gear because it is "too popular"...
- Level up weapon skill lines on alt to unlock Onslaught or Snipe ? What for ? People will make ZOS to nerf it with their own tears...
- Roll a new class and level it up ? HOW ? I dont have live to grind 24/7/365. Why ? I have done it once... I have to do it every 3 months ? HOW ?

I could make those points indefinitely...
The point is, the kind of rapid changes ZOS is pulling would be "fine" like maybe once per year or even two years. But they are doing it EVERY THREE MONTHS.

Right now, the only type of content I am doing is basically crafting writs / daily crafting quests. I stopped doing PvP with Wrathstone and PvE with Elsweyr.
I probably could adapt, but I am no longer interested in it. By the time I would theory craft what kind of build I should sink my time & resources into (yes, I dont us meta builds, just to avoid majority of nerfs) and grind the gear, we will already have ANOTHER patch with 180 degree changes in random direction.... It is just a waste of time. The game needs stability.

I main a tank, DPS changes don't affect me, aside from the DPS players I get in random dungeon finder.

Sustain changes, being a tank you learn to manage your resources, will wait and see how it goes got plenty of sets to mix and match if my current go to ones don't work as well anymore.

I actually hate when the sets I use become even slightly popular for this reason. The more popular it is, the more likely ZOS will nerf it into the ground.
