Search bar for crafting?

One of my main issues is that when doing provisioning writs, is finding the food/drink that I'm going to make without looking through the list 50 or so times (after acquiring the recipes). Sure the different types of food has categories but I have no idea if for example what mammoth snout pie classifies as by just looking at the name, and I imagine I'd have the same problem if I had a lot of furnishings items to craft.

They implemented a search system for guild traders, would they ever implement one for crafting, and should they?

I had trouble with that when I was starting out, too, especially before I realized that the recipes for all of the dailies are sold at the NPC cooks and brewers-- I kept looking through all of the categories trying to find "Cyrodiilic Corn Bread" before I realized that I didn't know that recipe yet, and then I ended up making a special trip into Cyrodiil to see if I could find it because I didn't know that every cook in the game has it for sale! :s

Anyway, all of the daily Provisioning jobs fall under one of the first three categories depending on whether it contains meat, is a fruit-based dish (and, yes, tomato is a fruit), or is a vegetable-based dish; as well as whether it's an alcoholic drink, a tonic, or a tea. And since the daily jobs for any given Provisioning level repeat in a cycle, it doesn't take long to learn which of the first three categories a given food or drink falls under.

As far as the master writs, I believe the requested items are always found in the last two categories. And if you haven't done the quest in Wrothgar where you help the Orc lady find all of the ingredients to make the dishes for her feast, be sure to do it before you get to master-level Provisioning, because you'll need to know some of her recipes for the master writs.

Edit: But, yes, a search feature of some kind would be nice.

That's interesting. I'd never really thought about the dishes being categorized like that, my main problem is how will I know which meals contain meat or fruit or vegetables? That is until I actually find the dish. It's a little easier with drinks since I can sort of tell by the name which category they go under.
And don't worry, it took me some time to find out the chefs and brewers have the recipes too (as I was mostly sent recipes when I first started)

And I'll remember to help the orc lady with her food

The addon solution sounds like a good idea too, I'll try to see if I can find any addon that helps me
