Writ vouchers resetting

Just wondering if anyone had a problem with master writs totals. Had a jewelry one for 307 vouchers and when I completed it (using all my chromium as it was legendary), my writ total was 107 Today it was straight 100. I have 3 accounts and use both servers and all my totals were flat 100. I submitted a ticket but got the usual "which crown store items are you missing?" nonsensical reply which was their only concern and no further contact. What a game breaker.

First, you did mention having 3 accounts and playing on both the EU and NA mega-servers, but with which platform? Please read Guidelines For Bug Report Forum for advice about submitting a bug report which the ZOS programmers mightl find useful.

Personally, I have not observed that problem thus far. I do not fulfill Sealed Master Crafting Writs during every game session, or every day. I prefer to fulfill multiple writs with the same character on the same occasion.

The fact that it occurs on both mega-servers and with each of the three accounts implies that something which the characters have in common is causing the Writ Voucher totals to be incorrect. However, there has been evidence that all host software installed on the respective game servers that comprise the two mega-server systems is not identical. (Which makes finding and resolving "bugs" in the game software require even more expertise, experience, time, and effort than it would if they were identical in every respect.) So the "bug" is probably not in the host software.

If you are playing TESO on PC or Mac, and use any add-ons which interact with the Bank UI, Bags Inventory, and/or the Guild Store UI, then the problem could be caused by a bug in one or more of them. Note that the problem can be evident with two or more add-ons because they use one or more of the same features of the same Library. That is, the "bug" can be in a Library file which any add-on uses.

I suggest that you install the add-on https://esoui.com/downloads/info1161-CirconiansAddonSelector.html. Then, for each character, you can save the entire current set of selected add-ons to eventually restore, after you have disabled all add-ons for that character.

If the problem persists after you disable all add-ons, then it occurs with the native game user interfaces, and there is a "bug" either in the game client or in the host software running in the two respective mega-server systems.

Else, you can then re-enable each of the add-ons one-by-one, until you find one or more with which the problem becomes manifest.

Please let us know whether you find the apparent cause of the problem.

That said: in my own experience, there is no integrity in the game software, thus in the player-character records which are created for and maintained by the ZOS mega-server software. ZOS refuses to accept any particular obligation to create and maintain correct records. It does not seem to matter how many players decide to play some other game instead because the game-state of one or more characters has become corrupted.

For example, while months passed, I eventually proved that there was a bug(s) in the Bank UI record-keeping which made the Gold Piece totals incorrect (too low!). Of course, after first ignoring, then refusing to acknowledge that the problem even existed, ZOS never replaced the missing Gold Pieces. Also, they never compensated me in any way for all of my time and effort. Then yet more months passed before ZOS finally got a Round Tuit and corrected (?) the problem.

Good luck! If the problem is not caused by an add-on(s) or add-on library, then we can only hope that this problem does not occur to many other players. Else, if it does occur, perhaps it will be so common that ZOS will be strongly encouraged to find the error and remedy it "as soon as possible".

Hi, thanks for your reply. I do have a few inventory add ons but for the writ count I was using the inbuilt menu. It's strange as my mains on each account all have 100 writs and all alts have 10 which I never do the writs on alts, always pass them on to my main.

One thing I did consider is that I use Writworthy to auto complete my writs and then stand in front of Rolls and activate each writ and hand in to save running back and forth. I do this quite rapidly and in the past that has screwed with the acknowledgement and I have lost whatever it was I gave in, one time I lost over 300,000 gold transferring through mail and wasn't credited it back. Perhaps it's this but I don't know whether it's some sort of server reset that puts it back to 100. Three accounts can't all do it at the same time right?

I've lost several hundred writs now. I did 6 yesterday and it acknowledged, but today it went back down to 100. I just did a quick alchemy one and it went to 102, but that may be gone tomorrow.

It's a shame if that aspect of the game is gone. I enjoy doing them and not being able to has diminished my enjoyment. Ticket line aren't going to do anything about it either.

Another thing that I should have mentioned in my first reply is that after you run the Launcher, select the Game Options menu, and choose the Repair option. It will take a few minutes or so to complete. Doing that will fix any errors which might be in the game installation, including in the game client, which might be the root of the problem that you have reported.

Have you tried depositing writ vouchers which the character receives into the Bank account before you log-out of that character? (On the Deposit and Withdrawal dialogs, respectively, there is a drop-down menu arrowhead following the field which shows the current balance -- by default it is for Gold Pieces, but a player can bank Alliance Points, Tel Var Stones, and Writ Vouchers, too.)

That might stop them from disappearing from the character, but maybe they will disappear from the bank, too. I also suggest that you document your actions with screenshots and post them in this discussion, so that Support (among others) can see what is happening.

By the way, I use the add-on SALTI - Currency Totals to keep track of what amounts there are on my respective characters and the totals in the Bank. Also, I use Dolgubon's Lazy Writ Creator as well as Writ Worthy to auto-craft Sealed Master Crafting Writs. After I open the completed one(s) to submit, the Lazy Writ "Timsavers" option for automatic turn-in dialogs works smoothly and quickly. It has been a long time since I've had any problem with it.

    Hi again Shadowshire,

I did a repair but nothing changed. I already run the Wriworthy and Dolghubuns. I use personal banker mod which automatically takes all writs and deposits them into the bank for my mains (on all accounts) to pick up. I only do them on the main as they accumulate faster and they know most motifs.

I dropped another ticket yesterday but got completely ignored this time so I destroyed my master writs which were taking up space in my bank and haven't had one since today. The count is still at 100 and I've resigned myself to never getting it fixed. The game has hundreds of bugs and ZOS don't have time to sort them out, only when it becomes critical to gameplay and many people are affected, or there's a problem with cash transactions do they bother. I've been playing since 2016 and used to be able to get a friendly response from them, have mistakes rectified, but now it's the middle finger, or seems to be. It's a shame that nobody else has come forward about this, something might be done.

I'm at end game now with all my 26 characters so writs and accumulating gold was all I had to do until the next chapter/DLC comes out. I appreciate the screenshots suggestion but it wouldn't help. I don't have timestamps and I'm only arguing over a couple of vouchers. They didn't help before when I lost half a million gold on a inter account transfer, so I don't think they will now.

Many thanks for your support, it's much appreciated.
