Fishing Poles

Well I'm still trudging my way towards Master Angler title and with all my free time for thought I cant help but become increasingly annoyed with how ordinary and bleak our fishing rods look. It would be cool if we could have different styles maybe with some glow effects, etc. or a chance to unlock a pole which grant us increased rare fish chances for certain times in the day. If anything give us a slot for us to be able to simply dye the thing.

ESO fashion matters even the small minuscule things like fishing rods. What other ideas would you propose for fishing on or outside of this thread?

I would love to be able to quest for better fishing poles! This ole cane pole look is getting really old.

Yes and how about dropping an occasional fishing furnishing like those green floats, fishing rack, ropes etc. I can fill my house already with the same kelp piles and boring brown small/medium/large fish. Has eso even seen what colours Wrasses really are? How about that creeping fish for your pond as a stage past the boat from master angler. And I need a duck for my non combat pet. My poor chicken is always neck deep in water and, and..

Would like to be able to craft fishing poles. Maybe even be able to change the look with styles and with the outfit system.

Well, being that fish get caught very easily in the game, I'd say the fishing rod works more than perfectly, but it'd be cool to get a new fancier one from a quest or craftable

Whatever, please keep it cosmetic and do not copy that boring other game with fishing rods with stats, fishing raft mount and even fishing rod artifact. Three times I've ended up mostly fishing few last months before I quit it (the game).

It continues to crack me up every time I hear the reel sound, since the ESO fishing pole has no reel.

If we're going to have the sound, I'd at least like to see a reel on my fishing pole.

FFXIV has an array of fishing rods as you level up being a Fisherman, and are craftable.
While we're at it, we could have regional fishing rods with specialties maybe. Like faster time to catch a fish but lower quality, for those times you just want to gamble for Perfect Roe.

Crafted fishing rod with 2% chance bonus to catch rare fish, upgraded to green 4%, blue 6%, purple 8% and gold 10% chance to catch rare fish.

new woodworking crafting skill that opens up after reaching level 50 in all other crafting skills OR after learning every woodworking trait first.

I fish when bored or waiting for something else... so just casual. But I have also often thought, this fishing rod is well boring!

It would be nice, at least a different fishing rod for each race would be welcome.

I would love to do farming in eso..plow the land..plant mah crops..water mah crops...harvest mah crops!

Add a fishing pole slot in outfits and use our staves motifs for fishing poles. I'll be fine fishing with Abnur Tharn's staff.

When I saw the title I for some reason thought it was about Poles (as in people from Poland) fishing and got mightily curious. Turned out it was about fishing rods,

As someone who's always for more options for customization whether they provide in game benefits or are mrely cosmetic, have my support. In spite of my disappointment at the lack of Poles.

Heh. I remember my epic/rare fishing poles in That Other Game™. And the fact you had to equip them in your weapon slot - which made things a bit hairy when attacked by random enemies.

I always wondered why there weren't various levels of fishing poles...not necessarily a skill line of course, but a proficiency bonus and a better pole as you go along would be nice. Something like three grades of poles or something. It wouldn't hurt anything if the fishing achievement could be obtained 20% faster.....it would only take 3 years then.

I agree cosmetic and IN GAME EARNABLE fishing rods does seem an obvious and easy change. Would be great for people who are chasing Master Angler to have other rare things they can pull out of the water. Maybe have them drop in fragments that can be crafted together into a various rods. A simple but nice touch.

A lot of games with housing also has gardening of some kind. Maybe not all as complex as FFXIV with cross-breeding being the only way to get certain mats, but limited gardening/resource harvesting.

I would love to be able to take a piece of land in a house and plant seeds, water, fertilize and harvest. Even add a chance at rare housing drops related to what you are harvesting.

I don't see a fishing rod. I see a bamboo cane of the type I use to grow beans up at the allotment, with a bit of string tied to it.
