Mount stamina (again)

I know mounts and their endless stamina has already been discussed in other threads, but I just noticed something and wanted to add to one of the other threads, except it's been closed.

Why am I spending 60 days and 250*60 gold on mount training in Stamina? The description says
allowing your mount to sprint longer and take more hits before you become dismounted.

I'd always read this as "allowing A and B before C," meaning "allowing A before C, as well as B before C," or "allowing your mount to sprint longer before you become dismounted." The way it works now (and since forever?) doesn't even really seem to fit that wording, because the way it works is more accurately described as "allowing your mount to sprint longer and take more hits before taking hits causes you to become dismounted."

I'm not arguing about how it's working, whether it's always been working wrong ("not intended to work that way but embraced after the fact because the players loved it and we wanted to keep them happy"?), or whether it's always been working correctly but the description wasn't stated clearly enough for my literalist programmer's and mathematician's mentality (priority of "and" and such).

No, I'm simply wondering if I'm spending money on riding lessons in the best order. I've always maxed out Carrying Capacity first, then Stamina, then Speed. But if Stamina doesn't actually work the way I'd always thought it did, maybe I should be maxing out Speed before Stamina?

You can test it out by sitting still and letting a ranged mob hit you. See how many hits dismount you. Then start riding circles around them and see how many hits dismount you. Chances are, for the same amount of Stamina score, it's gonna be the same.

Right now it only make sense to put points into Stamina for 2 reasons
    - You like riding around in open world PvP. Getting knocked off your mount is not funny there.
    - You want to get ready for the upcoming changes because you don't have the CP perk that lets you have unlimited non-combat sprint

If you are just PvE I'd go Carrying Capacity then Speed then Stamina.

You are supposed to be able to mash your sprint button for bursts of speed that eat up stamina but I've never seen anyone do that and I rather doubt it works at all: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/496788/big-boosts-of-speed-on-your-mount-by-rapidly-pressing-sprint

Ahhh ... finally a topic where beating a dead horse isn’t just a meme.
"May you walk on warm sands."
"First, I would ask that you look to the poor and the suffering around Cyrodiil. Look into their hearts, and then look into your own."
"May Auri-El's light guide you in your darkest hours."

I've only got two characters I'm currently doing riding lessons on.

One of them is finished with Carrying Capacity and is now training in Stamina. I'm not even playing with this character yet, just doing the daily riding lessons. I'm not really worried about whether he trains in Stamina before Speed, since I probably won't even be playing with him for a while. But it was when I was buying another day's Stamina lesson last night that it suddenly hit me that-- based on how Stamina actually works for mounts, at least until the upcoming changes go into effect-- it probably doesn't even make sense to train in Stamina at all unless I'm going to be riding around in Cyrodiil (PvP or no PvP, since you can't exactly "decline" PvP the way you can decline duel requests).

The other character I'm training is my newest one, and I'm actively playing with him, although I've been sort of taking my time about it. Right now he's still training in Carrying Capacity, and when that's done I think I'll definitely do Speed before Stamina.

Those of you who do Carrying Capacity last, I guess you have ESO+ and the craft bag?

Yes, I have ESO+ so train Carry last. I don't ever carry much stuff anyway so even if I didn't bother with Carry I'd be fine.

    It most definitely works.

    You should experiment more.

The change makes sense and the previous infinite stamina really didn't, people just don’t like change.

I agree that the way it's been working is unrealistic; but it's a fantasy game, so... :)
