I play nightblade and don’t crutch cloak because I hate the ones that do. But honestly... why rage about it? Just move on and find another fight, if they want to come to you they’re usually an easy kill once caught. It’s only annoying if you let it annoy you.

Lol most NB who cloak a lot die very easily when get caught Detection potion for example, thats because they don't build for long fights, outhere are great NBs who can face you in 1v1 I don't worry so much for those who cloak and run, look around and you will find something to hit.

lol, I love how the response to making a silly post about a dumb ability is immediately hyper defensive and full of "omg L2P GEEEZ look at the RAGE! without this skill we would be NOTHING carry detect pots!!1!"

    wow

    calm down

I also want to call out the smug nightblade players whom act like they do anything other then play a nightblade

"bwah? its easy to counter you just, I don't know, use a potion guy, I mean c'mon, its easy, heh, cause like, that's what I do right? you know because like, I never play a nightblade. . .and if I did I CERTAINLY would not use cloak, cause its like. . .a crutch. . .cough."

but the only real argument I actually see is "carry a detect pot" cause even its defenders know that the skill based detection methods are pretty much a meme.

I must admit I am still surprised be the amount of angry dismissive responses that pop up as soon as you mention cloak.

I guess I hope for everyone sake ZOS never touched the skill, because man oh man if nightblades all of a sudden cannot crutch on being invisible on demand the bodies will be hitting the floor.

I main a night blade and I still feel cloak should have a condition similar to streak but based upon a threshold of health — as in if you drop below 75 percent health you can try and disengage but it will cost more.

Yes I know “he’s not a real Nb, no Nb would ask for that.”

But any honest Nb that plays at a high level (beyond glass canon), running high regen on all three stats, running either tristat potions or speed pots know they are untouchable. Even with the myriad options to pull us out of stealth a lot of what is available is laughable.

Also any high lvl Nb with decent resists, weapon damage, knows they don’t need shadowy disguise to fight at a competitive level. Myself I only use shadowy disguise to suppress damage. I rarely use it to run away and be a coward.

If you’re going to play Nb and spam shadowy disguise there should be a counter play beyond faulty AoE — yes detect potions are the best option, but even then it’s still not as good as people think. Not to mention the misconception that stamina Nb with a little bit of understanding of the class can also “spam” shadowy disguise.

But again, I guess it’s because I don’t rely heavily on shadowy disguise to fight. It’s not a crutch for me. I’d just personally like a more high risk high reward.

Or I would be down for them to revert the changes of piercing mark to a longer duration. At least with the longer duration you knew who was a good Nb and who wasn’t. And that goes both ways.

In what arena do you pvp with your NB? I ask because I play BGs and Cyrodiil as a healer so always in a group. I use dark cloak as well, but mainly because cloak isn’t that great.

If you’re running around solo then I could see saying cloak is too strong making you untouchable, the problem is the more players there are around the less cloak is effective.

Take that same spec and try some battlegrounds. You’ll dominate against beginner players, but play some more against experienced players and you’ll see NB as being weak. There’s a reason why people don’t like getting a NB on their team in battlegrounds.

I play a NB healer and I can tell you, if someone specs to counter NBs like I do you neutralize them. Heck, I do as a healer, it’s not hard.

@Iskiab i play both CP Cyrodiil and BG. I get what you’re saying — but the more players that are around despite any class, the less effect anything is. Idk, I’m just saying some of the stuff I can do with my stamina NB is ridiculous, and I think if people are being honest about their NB at a higher lvl they know there’s a lot of cheese going on there.

This is specifically about shadowy disguise, I’ve been using it interchangeably with dark cloak, and shouldn’t be. Anyhow — the NB toolkit is a little too ridiculous, there should be consequence to your actions. And this is only taking about one skill, let’s not forget about shadow image combined with shadowy disguise + speed pots and roll dodge. I’m just saying, people who say if shadowy disguise were penalized in some way would = free kills, need to get better at the game. And I don’t mean that in a condescending tone. It’s just the facts.

Group play it’s ridiculous how strong I am and what I can do. Solo it’s just too trolly and sometimes I feel so sleezy.

A stamblade? IDK. I’m a magblade and think Stamblades are the weakest BG spec. I’ve seen some good ones too, better players then I am, and they get wrecked.

Necros are hit and miss. Stam Necros aren’t the best, but that major defile props them up.

I play a healer which might make a big difference.
