PS4: confused about "attunable woodworking" station

I just opened a package and got a "trophy" for Attunable Blacksmithing station and Attunable Woodworking station. I really do not understand what I am supposed to do with these. At first I thought WOW I get to craft my own stations. Uhm. not looking like thats the case.

Says USE when at an item set crafting station. What the heck is that? Im at the woodworking station but obvo cant make a woodworking station. Googled and some folks are saying it lets you make a set of something. Why would I want a crafting station that makes one thing? SO me thinks I have not got a single clue what these two things are or what I will get from USE if and when I figure out what or where an item crafting station is.

ANY help in the right direction is deeply appreciated.

Go to special, set crafting stations in the world, for example Hunding's Rage. Use the woodworking station there then use Attunable Station to get your own copy. Place it in your house, so you can craft woodworking pieces of Hunding's Rage set without going into the wild again.

K, so the Station is for you home but to Attune it you would go to the location of where the Set you Want to be able to craft is first
Ex: Innate Axiom you’d go to Clockwork city crafting station.
And than when you place it at home you would be able to craft gear for Innate Axiom set instead of having to travel there.

But make sure you decide What Set you want
Pretty sure they a one shot deal...lol

It sounds like set crafting is new to you, so I'm going to give a little background information that you might be missing.

A set is a type of gear-- weapons, armor, or jewelry-- that gives special bonuses when you have 2, 3, 4, or 5 items of the same set equipped. You've probably gotten gear like that by doing quests, or by looting treasure chests.

Some sets are dropped, or obtained within the game as rewards or loot. There are a few different types-- overland sets which drop out in the wild from killing enemies or looting chests, dungeon sets which drop only in specific dungeons, and monster sets which drop by killing specific monsters.

Then there are sets you can craft yourself, but only if you have access to the required crafting stations and have researched enough traits. Some craftable sets require knowledge of 2 traits, meaning that if you want to craft a specific type of item in that set-- say, a dagger-- then you need to have completed research on at least 2 traits for daggers, although it doesn't matter which 2 traits. Other sets require knowledge of 3 traits, or 4, or 5, all the way up to all 9 traits. Thus, you might be able to craft certain types of gear in a given set, but not other types of gear.

When you're in a city or town and see a crafting station, it's just a generic crafting station that lets you craft non-set items. To craft set items you need to find special crafting stations that are scattered around out in the world.

Some are just out in the open and easy to find; others are out in the open but surrounded by monsters, and others are hidden away inside a ruin, in the basement of an abandoned house, in a cavern, etc. In any case, these special crafting stations will show up on your map as an icon that looks a bit similar to the icon for a camp-- namely, a fire-- except it has a couple of tools crossed in an X above the fire.

Aside from the starting zones for each alliance (Khenarthi's Roost, Stros M'Kai/Betnikh, and Bleakrock Isle/Bal Foyen), each alliance zone has 3 craftable set locations, which are the same for each alliance-- that is, the 3 sets in the first zone of a given alliance are the same as the 3 sets in the other alliances' first zone; the 3 sets in the second zone are the same; and so on.

Then each DLC zone or chapter has 3 craftable sets which are unique to it. So some sets are available to anyone who has the base game, while others are not available unless you either have a specific DLC or chapter, or know another player who has a copy of those crafting stations in his or her house.

As far as actually using an attunable crafting station once it's been attuned to a specific set, you'll still be able to craft non-set items with it if you want. Just as with a set crafting station out in the world, you'll see four icons near the top of the crafting dialog box-- one for crafting set weapons, one for crafting set armor, one for crafting non-set weapons, and one for crafting non-set armor. If you choose to craft a non-set item, you'll get a warning when you're about to craft the item, telling you that you're about to craft a non-set item and asking you to verify that that's what you want to do. So you can use the attunable crafting stations to craft non-set items for your daily crafting writs if you want-- just be sure to select the correct icon.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

@EternalDiva - I recommend you read the post above by @SeaGtGruff for sure, as he's done a bang-up job of making sense. I also recommend you bank those 3 attunable stations until you're more firmly grounded in crafting gear in ESO. That's a lot of gold value in those three stations, and you can only attune them once each to set stations. You don't want to waste them....

Note that ALL crafting stations that are "attuned" to a certain set (like Hundings Rage) ALSO FUNCTION AS NORMAL, NON-SET CRAFTING STATIONS when placed in your home.

For example, if you ride out to the Hundings Rage set crafting station located in Reaper's March, then open your inventory and Use your attunable clothing station, a Hundings Rage clothing station will appear in your inventory. You can then place that Hundings Rage clothing station in your home and use it to craft either Hundings Rage boots OR you can use it to craft normal, non-set boots. You can also use that same Hundings Rage clothing station to refine cloth and leather materials, and you can use that same Hundings clothing station to deconstruct random clothing items that you loot while adventuring, and you can use it to research clothing items.

Good point, I totally didn't know that for the LONGEST time!
