Red Imp keeps appearing when my friend fast-travels?

Sooo... This might sound insane, but there is some kind of imp that spawns for a second at the other end of any fast traveling that my friend does. It's just a red imp, holding some kind of energy ball, and it disappears after a few moments. At first I was just like... "I don't see an imp..." And he'd send me screenshots of the imp. But now I see the imp when he fast travels and I do not understand why there's an imp stalking him.

Is this a thing? Why is there an imp following my friend? Are we being marked by the daedra? Are we gonna get wrecked like Kvatch?

But seriously, there really is an imp guys. What's going on? >.<

The dragon-imp pet first appears as an imp for a second or two whenever you fast travel, then it turns into a dragon.

They knew players would want a dragon pet, but they want to keep at least a vauge connection to TES lore, where a pet dragon makes absolutely no sense at all. So they made it an imp which uses an illusion to disguise itself as a dragon. The imp re-casts the spell periodically, especially when it first loads, to emphasise that it's not really a dragon.
