Dungeons and dragons online for dungeons(this would apply to public dungeons in eso) had a difficulty you could choose. This could be a way to test how to implement and see how people enjoy/not enjoy the new difficulty. Do it initially on the base game zones. These keeps overland content still accessible to everyone. Those that choose the same difficulty would be able to go in together see others in there as well. Just a thought

another guy asking for single player dark souls game, the difficulty in an MMO is coming from playing with other players like vet dungeons and trials(raids) or against other players like pvp and cyrodill, rest of the game is designed for story and learning your class and skills while leveling up, they can make end boss of chain quest a little harder but by no means those content are there to challenge you, they are for story which is very important part of this mmo, there are many who play this game for the story and they do not want to die over and over again like some dark souls game, play end game content in AN MMO for challenge.

I don’t think splitting up the community is a good idea, especially with multiple difficulty tiers as OP suggests, could create many low population instances and generally make the game feel rather empty IMHO. Perhaps the difficulty of some enemies could be scaled further depending on how many players are at the encounter and scaling should also take CP into account?

Alik'r Dolmen farming is what we have now. If you have a Veteran zone with better rewards, all of it will be ignored except for what gives good XP and good rewards with minimal effort -- and then like Alik'r they'll get a huge mob and mow it down too easily -- veteran zone difficulty won't matter. If the reward doesn't match the EFFORT (not difficulty necessarily), people will just ignore it.
There ARE harder bosses (Bittergreen? Thodundor? Vvardenfell bosses?) and there IS harder overland content (Craglorn). You don't see people doing that much. Think about why.

Furthermore, everything you want is already basically done in dungeons and trials.
Harder mobs, harder bosses, more and theoretically better loot -- that's basically a dungeon, vet dungeon, and trials.
And they LIMIT the number of people AND direct the entire encounter in dungeons and trials FOR GOOD REASON -- so you don't get a huge mob farming something over and over very quickly. Which some people can sort of do anyway, but there's no reason to deliberately make getting goodies an easy-push-button experience like Alik'r.

You want hard? Grind trials. Veteran hard mode dungeons. That's what they are there for.

Some of the points said by Dusk_Coven and the fact that new players are more valuable to Zos then us day one players.

Zos would be insane to do this from a monetary perspective, as well. Next is the clear cut facts that Zos is terrible, just absoulty awful at making adjustments to the game. We would then end up with a more broken game for something that really doesn't make any sense to do in the first place.

Especially, since they haven't even fixed the game's performance ffs, Cx!!

Just make an alt account on another server, so you don't have anything and play or find another game....

Also, if you don't have all the vet trials done and such achievements as Tick Tock Tormentor, Gryphon Heart, The Unchained, Godslayer, etc....Then your point is moot because you haven't sought out the hardest content and completed it.

I have all the vet trials and two of those achievements listed done and I have been playing since day one. Though I am still working on the ones I don't have. That is what long term players usually seek rather then worrying about overland content, smh.

I want more trials and arenas added with the dlcs. Opposed to those just two new dungeons dlcs for content.

Before i left the game a few months ago, I swapped to the NA servers to see if it would reignite my interest. It didn't. But what i did find out, having zero cp kinda brought it back how different this game is. With cp, some of my toons can literally out heal the damage they receive, without cp, my toon went down quicker than a pair of knickers on a *** in a brothel. The damage output was poor too. Like playing 2 different games. One which we all play and the other what new players encounter.

I have no idea how to get round this because as someone else stated within this thread, when we had vet zones, they were barren. Next to no one ventured there. I think during my gold play through I saw 1 other person.

It is a good general idea, but in this game would split the population up too much I'm afraid. Remove writ, undaunted and guild trader "noise" foot traffic and many areas of ESO, even main hubs, are looking rather sparsely populated these days. ESO and many games like it rely on better players to carry worse ones, just the way it is.
