EarthGore Again

"When you heal yourself or an ally that is under 50% Health, you conjure a pool of quenching blood underneath them, immediately removing all previous enemy placed effects, and healing the lowest Health friendly target in the area for 30000 Health over 6 seconds. This effect can occur once every 35 seconds."

My understanding is

1. Once proc, it will remove all enemy placed effects from ALL players within the area of pool. This seems straight forward.
2. Heals ONE lowest health target. This is confusing.

Does this mean one lowest health target per tick and hops to other target or stay on same target based on lowest target health after the first tick? Or stays on that first ONE target over 6 seconds? How fast does EarthGore ticks during 6 seconds? One tick per second for a potential of 6 ticks for 6 different targets? One tick per 2 seconds for a potential of 3 ticks for 3 different targets?

Reviewing my Combat Metrics log didn't clarify this.

Point 1, about the removing negative effect is correct, it’s similar to how Negate (Ultimate) on specs clan clean the ground.
As for point 2, it will target the player with the lowest health in percentage (%) usually. Once it procs on that target, a large AoE of blood will drop and within that AoE all friendly targets will be healed (unless they still have a target cap with the set). Also the negative affects on the ground will be removed.
You do not get like the whole heal in a second, you get it over 6 seconds (ticks every second) like the set says. Anyone who remains in the AoE will be healed for the during they are in the AoE. The AoE is stationary. It doesn’t following a moving target.
The heal is very strong and has the sweet effect of cleaning the ground too. It’s a great set.

My understanding is that this was changed recently. It no longer heals everyone in the AOE, as the tool tip now says, it heals ONE person within the aoe. The set was nerfed basically, but is still powerful as it can save someone in the group from going down.

So EarthGore ticks every sec for 6 secs healing 5000 health/sec. After recent nerfing, it only heals one target per ticking.

My question is “does EarthGore heals one target for one tick, and potentially heal a second target on second tick if that second target now has lower health than the first target after 5000 health heals?” So six separate 5000 health heal/sec can be shared up to six targets for 5000 health heal each?

Its an interesting question and would be good to see clarified.

My feeling is no, once it procs the heals all go to the initial and only target. That is my understanding.

I’ve used it on my Stam sorc in pvp, and it does not “immediately” remove negative effects. It removes them once the earthgore animation is complete.

Do target or targets have to stay in the pool until animation is completed for proc cleansing?

I haven't actually tested to verify this but last week I was sure the AOE healed two different people on different ticks. I was paying close attention because I was just told in game about the nerfed to one target and didn't believe them.

I have used it in PvE a lot and it removes the PvE ground effects immediately. Never tried it in PvP so maybe thats a bug.

I was under the impression that it only healed one person, regardless of the health percentages of other players after it proc'd. I've seen a few healers still use this in Trials (not sure why since it was gutted), and it only appeared to proc on one person.

I didn't think it worked like the resto staff healing one (Lights Champion), as this one can heal a new person each tick: Release the rejuvenating energies of your staff to swirl around you, healing you or a nearby ally for 1139 Health every 1 second for 5 seconds. Any friendly target you heal gains Major Force for 8 seconds, increasing their Critical Damage by 15%.

Ha HA Ha. So much confusion on this. Ball of confusion. I am glad, I asked this question.

Hope someone smart can clarify this once and for all.

Thank you all for your insight.

    Monitoring this thread with interest.

My healer's skill bars are so darn tight she wears Rattlecage to avoid slotting entropy (hate sucking potions) for major sorcery and wears Earthgore instead of slotting a big burst heal (like BoL). Seems to be working pretty well but would certainly be happy to learn more detail regarding the specifics of Earthgore. I remember in the 'old days', an injured summon could proc Earthgore and I'm not even sure that was eliminated since it would be a shame to have the proc go to a summon when a player needs it.

Oh, I wasn’t aware of the any nerfs for the live sever on PS4 yet. What update are you playing, Scalebrealer? Or Dragonhold pts?
I think it still heals more than one guy on the PS4 update currently. I haven’t used it recently but I’ll have to check it.
As for the removal of negative effect, it is immediate. The thing I can’t remember is if it removes newer negative effects on the ground when the blood is still raining.

Why does this set have so much questions the more you think and try to answer the questions? Wtf, this set should had been in my philosophy class as a class topic years ago. Lol

Single target heal, doesn't change targets. The AoE removal is instant at the point of proc (We had a Banner + Shackle combo get instantly yeeted because someone proc'd EG while inside the banner)

While each tick of an Earthgore proc can only heal one person at a time, the proc can change targets within the EG radius after each burst of healing. In this way, the proc functions as a "smart heal."

    Logs that show this:

This is why I personally use it in some trash fights in Vet raids. Still a very strong "oh crap" healing proc imo.

Thank you very much for taking your time for posting your answer. I think that settles this question.

Oh by the way, nice YouTube tutorial on Z'en's Redress usage.

It does hop targets. If the first tick heals someone and the second tick someone else is lower, it will hop.
