Your #1 Regret in ESO

Spending time, money, and a lot of effort developing and gearing up a character just to have their skills and gear completely nerfed a few updates later rendering them useless--well at least not the character they were meant to be!.

Buyig ESO through Steam.
I didn't realize there was a way to buy it directly, and that it would make any difference. Now every time the stupid Steam/ESO interaction (or the stupid Steam) acts up I have problems I wouldn't have if I had bought it directly. But it has been better for the last few months, so maybe that won't matter anymore.

Other than that... There were one or two quests that reacted in a bizarre way to the choice you could make, so my character caused one or two things he never wanted to.

And a few days ago I killed a bandit in a den you had to sneak into, and it counted as murder. And since that was directly before quest completion I didn't realize it and turned in the quest. Now, after three years of playing with my char, meticulously avoiding killing innocents of any kind, I got the "Murderer" achievement, or however that stupid thing is called. *sigh*

That's it. There are some inconveniences in the game, but that's nothing to "regret".

That’s because when eso actually works it’s a lot of fun. Though it’s getting more rare these days when it does especially on console.

Actually, with all its faults ESO exceeded my expectations. Be pessimist and have occasional happy surprises.
But I did buy Elsweyr when it went to sale and it was about what I did expect...

Greatest regret, not quitting as soon as Zenimax started in with the loot box BS. But when ever I feel like coming back, I come here to remind myself why I shouldn't, thanks for all the toxic reminders

Thinking people in true endgame guilds were nice.

I’ve never met a more dislikable bunch of people in my life . Salty, clicky, not willing to help others, only want to run in their little groups with their bumchums, will quit runs after 2 mins if one person dies in a pug - I could go on.

A lot of them would do well to remember they were new and learning once and they should give something back to the community rather than adding to its problems

So much this. Been bitten twice by this very situation. Never again. Although I'm capable of doing that content, it's near impossible to get into their little 'old boys clubs'.

My mistake was wanting it too much. Now I don't care any more and feel free of it!

Another regret was losing a long-time friend over some stupid guild drama (I wasn't even a part of it, I tried to stay out of the way). I miss that easy camaraderie and goofing off in trials.

I feel more I wasted my money for this game while playing in this time than wasted money for pre-order of BoA in wow and not even playing it at all when it came out

Learning the game.
You find out it's too easy and now no mob can scare you. Putting no points in CP doesn't make it harder when enemies attack you once every 2 seconds and you attack 20 times per second.

Spending any money on crowns and especially crown crates in the first place. The game is not good enough to warrant that kind of expenditure. It's barely worth 15 bucks a month for subbing.

WOW gives you so much more for your money, leaps and bounds. In fact, the only reason I came back to eso after a year off was housing (I missed decorating), but even that is already losing its appeal because housing offers little to no benefit in game.

This game could be so much more than what it is, sadly ZOS greed gets in the way of the devs making the game for fun first).

My biggest regret is still playing and paying for eso+ with such terrible game changes and a developer team which is totally lost. There is no alternative on Xbox, however I'll be the first to shift once there is.
