Subclass system

Subclass system. Look I know it's hard but. Something I never forget. And that in my opinion was the best character progression system. Because you value your character and always want and enjoy playing with your main character. It was the subclass system of Lineage II is amazing. Seeing as RPG rules. Nothing prevents you from being a wizard and raising your potential to the maximum and learning another class. Like a rogue or priest for example. And start evolving that class from scratch. Without losing the value of your main character. This in my opinion is a way to play as you want. Or like Guild wars 1. You have your main class but choose skills from another class to complete your rules. Sorry my bad english.

As I understand it a sub class is basically choosing a second and different class than the main class for the character. ESO has zero need for such a thing as we have so few restrictions as it is and can get access to many similar skills via other means. ESO has one of the least restrictive character builds for a major MMORPG. So there is really no need for this.

Guild Wars 1 dual class and attribute system was amazing. I don't think anyone is capable of recreating that. It was said that the system was inspired by magic the gathering deck building.

Yes Red_Feather I fully agree Like magic. You choose your skills and have alot of skills alot. That was amazing. I play GW1 for yers. And GW2 they lose that magic from GW1.

A subclass system just like Lineage II? Hmm, maybe not. There you had like, 4 classes in just one character. I don't see how this could work here.

However, I'd love to have a class specialization, where you could pick one skill line from another class.

Ive actually been developing, or probably more accurately just thinking about when bored, a form of sub class mechanic. I did write a rather long explanation of the idea, but then thought better of posting it as I just felt, as I think this thread is showing, folk would be opposed to it.

My idea is that if you want to go subclass, you can swap out any one of your existing main class skill lines, to take one skill line from another class. So you end up with two skill lines from one class, one skill line from a 2nd class, to form your final hybrid class.

Pretty often there are class lines entirely or virtually unused because you are not using the character in that way/role.

Warden Necromancer... or Necromancer Warden... hmmn... I want. NOW.

Yeah picking one of the 3 skill lines from another class would open up a ton of new build options, without being too overpowered or making the class system meaningless.

It would also help to balance classes when their skills are underperforming. For example every class could use the Necro Colossus in the current meta.
