Shoulderpads are ruining my fashion.

Can we maybe get the option to hide shoulder pads like we can hide helmet?

I can't be the only one who does not like them, and while we are at it can we do the same with gloves?

Lo even I talked about this in the PTS and someone said "THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO PUT THAT HERE!!"

Yeah but fashion for me....is higher priority than game breaking bugs... espeacially when it s a simple switch...

if they have hide helmet... it should not be hard to hide the other stuff..

if they put that behind a paywall i'll quit eso.

It'd be so cool if we could hide separate elements of our outfits, it's one thing in my fashion scrolls online wish-list, that also includes being able to combine outfits with costumes, and having mannequins where we can create and save outfits ^^

I'd love to be able to hide all my gear.
How is that any different from wearing all heavy armor and making it look like light armor in the outfit station? I'm sure PvP is not the reason why it's not a possible thing.

I agree we should be able to toggle any piece of armors visibility in overland play only. Not in cyrodiil thats just asking for trouble. Also in before "but then everyone will be running around naked" stop right there go to any zone with more than 10 people in it 1 or more of them of them is gonna be nude already especially if there is a fountain.

If we can hide our helmet, then we should be able to hide shoulders, without feeling the need to resort to some fantastical reason like using a spell or enchantment to make them invisible. Our helmets are already invisible, if we want them to be, without the need to come up with some in-game, lore reason. Same should be for shoulders.

Who cares if they put all this effort into simulating various styles of shoulder armor. They've also done a ton of work on creating various styles for head pieces, but we can easily hide those anyway.

I can see the reason behind not wanting us to be able to hide chest and legs, but why we can't hide other parts is baffling. Unless they're afraid of some "slippery slope."

I’m glad somebody brought this up again. Shoulders in the game are lousy. That’s why people want to hide them. Every time I’m just about finished with a character’s outfit and I try to find shoulders that aren’t totally goofy I completely despair.

Shoulder and hip pads are my bane. That and the stupid wings they decided to attach to the backs of 2 of my otherwise favorite armors, which means I will never ever wear or buy the motifs for them. This isn't WOW. Knock it off ZOS. At a bare minimum... let us hide the ugly things.

Yeah those are better for sure. I must now acquire them! Also, what "gloves" is that character wearing? And WHY O WHY have we never gotten a ROBE with that Bosmer neckline???

I'm not aware of any "shoulderpads" existing in this game.

There are, however, many armors that incorporate spaulders or pauldrons as a design element. This isn't surprising, considering historical armors in our world used these to protect the shoulders of combatants. The styles designed for this game in general give a nod to historical armor designs. This is seen not just with the inclusion of spaulders and pauldrons, but also with couters, poleyns, tassets, rerebracers, and more. With close to 100 styles in the game, there is plenty of variety to be had on all of these elements. You can find shoulder styles that are small to bulky, and even ones that are more like shawls. If you do not like pauldrons, use a shawl.

See all the shoulder styles in the game here and even customize what you are looking for with search filters: https://eso-motifs.mmo-fashion.com . Using the search tool, select "one piece" under the "shoulders" area to see all the styles that look more like shawls.

The "shawls" often clip/partially obscure/otherwise interfere with the neckline of the chestpieces, though.

I understand the historically inspired design concept behind shoulders, tassets and flaps and that is fine, for those who like them.

However, given that I can choose to make my character run around in a bathing towel, if I want to (and still have full armour stats), I don't really see what difference it would make if we were allowed to hide them?

They still clash with/obscure the arm details on some chestpieces, though.

For example, the Deadwater chest already has (textured) metal plates on the arms and the Honorguard just covers/clashes with them.

If armpieces are acceptable, instead of shoulders and a chestpiece already has armpieces, why not just let us hide shoulders?

To be honest, I'm even more interested in being able to hide tassets, butt/crotch flaps and floating belt buckles, than I am shoulders, but still.

Surely, the Nordic Bathing Towel, which strategically exposes part of one buttock (whether you like it, or not!) has slid a fair way far down that slope, already, though?

Not that it bothers me too much, but it's so weird that I can choose to expose the bottom half of one buttock, while wearing no shoulder/hip/butt/crotch protection whatsoever, but can't choose hide anything, except helm, while displaying armour. xD

I can get behind a historical/realistic reason for tassets and ugly cod-pieces on heavy armor, but it makes no sense when you're wearing light armor. I mean, unless someone stabs you in the hip, you're wearing CLOTH. The shoulders are almost all oversized and bulky and what function can they possibly have on a robe? Same goes for medium too, especially rogue-types who surely want to remain as inconspicuous as possible, but no, we have to have massive spiky shoulders sticking two feet out either-side. Whyyyy? I know some aren't as bad, but often as they're a different style, they float or clip. Hiding is fine. Hide everything, why not? People run around in their skivvies all the time, or clad only in a towel or wedding dress. No nudey no problem imo.

The shoulders and other armor pieces on robes, ALL the robes, are indeed ridiculous. And players have been saying so for five years now. And have been utterly ignored.
