So I finally made the leap and bought a pc. I played on Xbox since launch, max level, tons of completions. But after the passing of a very close friend (he basically got me into the game, played together everyday etc) I couldn’t even turn the game on for a year.

Anyways decided to give it another go, start from scratch, no one I know uses a pc. It’s a learning curve using a mouse and keyboard that’s for sure.

I guess my question is, what are some of the must have AddOns?

While you can use a controller on PC, do spend the few hours it takes to train your muscle memory for KBM. It will be better in the long run
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Yeah that’s the plan, I’d like to stay away from a controller if I can, it will take time but I think I’ll get it.

I was actually just looking at that list! A lot of them loon to be more for end game (dressing room etc) that was probably the worst about Xbox, was having to re gear and respec everything manually to go from pve to pvp

Welcome! If I had to switch to the other direction and go console, I’d quit. Add ones remove the most tedious parts of the game.

Inventory Insight tracks all of your inventory in your entire account. It's my most favorite add-on.

Champion Points Slots pairs well with dressing room and lets you easy switch between different CP loadouts. It automatically deducts the 3K gold when you switch so you need to be a bit careful if you're running low on gold.

I remember my first time jumping over to PC right as Ps4 and XboxOne were being announced. Takes a bit to learn mouse and keyboard but it's worth it for fast paced gameplay. Slow games will be the way to learn at first and I think Minecraft did a good job for me back then. Very relaxing. Just make sure to get yourself in a comfortable position.

Action duration reminder: tracks skills with timers, very useful
AUI: mods your entire UI with a lot of customization
Combat metrics: you can see your dps/healing/tanking output and check what needs to change, etc..
Destinations: all maps pins for locations
    Lorebooks: all lorebook locations
LUI extended: more custom UI, similar to AUI but also different (i use both together)
Raid notifier: pop-ups for raids that tell you when important mechanics are happening
    Skyshards: all skyshard locations

You can use either the Xbox or Ps4 controller with this game but take in mind that you might need to put the camera sensitivity all the way up and also tweak it on the usersettings.ini file otherwise when you do PvP everybody is going to out step you. Back to the topic at hand, a gaming console is a self screwing purchase, you get better performance, longevity and freedom by building your own PC.

Also, do not forget to install libraries (f.e. LibMapPins) separately (like you install addons). Required libraries for each addon is listed in the addons page.

There are no "must have" add-ons. You can play quite fine without if you so choose. Like me.

But... if you -want- to, well... see above.

Do yourself a favor and use as few addons as possible.

After Summerset launched, a ZOS engineer was active in the forums briefly and explained the LUA virtual machine used for addons is single threaded and can contribute to severe performance issues.

If you like pve and pvp here is some of my personal favorites:

Foundry tactical combat - for the best looking interface
Dressing room - quickly changing outfits
Advanced Ui - mainly for minimal and quest tracker (I turned off the other stuff)
Combat metrics - basically a dps check
LazyWrit - doing your daily crafting quests for you
Research assistant - perfectly clean overview of your research done
Harvest Map - for collecting resources
NoThankYou - to stop annoying error messages pop up
Action Duration Reminder - showing how long your buffs and spells will last for
Miats pvp alerts - giving 3D icons in cyrodiil for keeps (just turn off all the other useless stuff)
Raid Notifier - a hint system for trial mechanics

Can't think of any more without looking. Those are the ones that I usually have turned on with every character. On the tank I also have "Untaunted" which basically makes a 3d icon at creatures that are not currently taunted.
