Cast time in cyrodiil

anyone even use abilities with a cast time in cyrodiil?
im confused how pvp happens with that much server lag.
does everyone just use the easiest proc abilities they can to get damage in? i tried to pvp the other night in cyrodiil and it was to the point where i couldn't damage people. i couldn't get my ults in, stuns from surprise attack and shadow arent going off, the bow ability wont even snipe people because they've somehow moved out of range by the time it charges up to fire...
how do you pvp in this? Dots? light attacks with procs?
do you have to load combos on a macro that fires when the server ticks?
i try to go invisible and the abilities i press right after going invisible have such a delay, the mechanic for extra crit from stealth is wasted.
i have been in battlegrounds for soo long i just wonder how people even PLAY in cyrodiil with that amount of server lag.

just wondering how to get back into pvp in cyrodiil.
