Lair of Maarselok bug prevents Hard Mode

Hi,
We've been trying to get the triple achievement (speedrun, nodeath, hardmode at once) but are unable because we get stuck in combat and can not activate hard mode when reaching the last boss. The bug appears after the second boss (The lurcher you have to kill 3 times). After that boss fight the whole group remains stuck in combat forever, and the only way to get out is to wipe, which obviously prevents getting the achievement. While stuck in combat you cannot interact with the seed to activate HM, so that is preventing it also.
Can you please look into this bug, and maybe fix it? Or if that is to time consuming just make it that you can activate hard mode even when you are in combat, as long as you have not aggroed the boss obviously, to prevent any cheesing.
