What's up with daily rewards?

Is it just me or have daily rewards gotten significantly less relevant? I remember times where we used to get 4 crates, pets, costumes, even DLC (murkmire). Now we get basically nothing of value save for the occasional 100k gold (which isn't that much for 20+ days of logging in daily).

Probably ZOS found that this was economically unprofitable and decided to give junk in the daily rewards.

That was fuel for the hype train. Now that daily rewards aren't so new, they got toned down.

XP scrolls, food, potions, riding skills are great for grinding up new characters. About the only thing I never use is the poisons.

Remember that daily rewards are catered to all players of Tamriel. Crown food, crown tripotions and experience scrolls are all useful to new players. Also, there are still some cosmetic rewards, ether last month or the one before that I got a camel mount. Considering these are free login rewards, 1 camel mount is better than 0 camel mounts.

Yeah, but you can destroy it after getting it. The items, not herpes.

Technically you can destroy herpes, you just have to destroy yourself in the process.

But on topic, I have like 60+ experience scrolls from the daily rewards. I sure hope they stack at 200 because I am expecting to reach that number in the next year at this rate.

      This, exactly.

Daily rewards only exist in the first place to encourage addiction to the game. There are other mechanisms in the game that do this as well, but basically anything that conditions players to compulsively log in daily (and therefore check the cash shop advertisement that was launched at the same time as daily rewards) is a marketing win. Adding in rewards of actual value diminishes that win. It wasn't designed to reward dedicated players... it was designed to prey on players. The preview crates in particular are obvious in this goal. Here - have a free pet related to the gamble crates this season that we'll later introduce as gem-only exclusives. Like, really? Really?

Players were complaining that they missed on good drops because they can't log in every day. That is why the best drop for the month is towards the middle of the month and there aren't really good drops at the end of the month.
Also players who have been around for a while are already set in their ways. Daily drops don't have much influence on them. New players can actually make use of those daily drops and they are the target audience. ZoS wants to get them logging in every day.

I really don't understand what some people expect from daily login rewards. Yes, it's nice when there's the occasional "goodie" but the daily rewards have never been more than cheap door prizes for logging in every day.

It's like since ZOS gives away a costume in one month, some people expect that the next month should include a costume and if another month there's a mount, then they expect that the next month should include a mount and a costume.

This month's rewards are garbage because they once gave away something I liked and valued. If next month included a free copy of every DLC and chapter, people would complain the following month when ZOS had no more DLC and chapters to give away.

New players and new characters get some help with the daily rewards. I'm researching traits on my 15th character, just because I can, so am using the research scrolls. I'm also stocking up any horse training I get, in case I roll characters 16, 17 and 18 one day.

As far as making sure I get the major reward each month - if I do, I do, if I don't, I don't.

They vary from month to month; just because you didn't get anything you wanted this month doesn't mean that all future months will be just as unrewarding to you. We can't expect to get a free DLC every month, or a free mount or pet, or-- just throwing this out there for ZOS to think about-- a free house(!).

Personally, I'd love it if I could convert at least some of the daily rewards into Crown Gems, so I can use them to buy some of the mounts and pets that are in the Crown Crates section of the store. As it is, I have huge numbers of Gold Coast potions and poisons that I might never use, just taking up space in my storage chests.

I don't have a problem with them, there's good months there's bad months. I think they just get less relevant as your toons get closer to maxed out, so i percieved decline may have a fair amount of cognitive bias present.

They’re still there. Mostly discounts on cash shop purchases, most notably discounts on gamble crates when they are further into the season.

Eh, I log in every day anyway. What's not to love? Sure it was REALLY nice when we got crates (and yeah, I'm really lucky because I cleaned up on all that free stuff.... In fact I got so much really great free goodies - costumes and cosmetics, mounts, pets etc. it's probably my fault they stopped!) but I'm still happy with what we get now.

Though I do have to say the New Moon crates do NOT at all fit me, my characters, etc. So this will be the second crate season I won't buy 5 per account. On both servers. I'm more than happy to pay, ZOS - but these crates are SO not appealing.

They should make it so the crown consumables and scrolls can be dismantled for crown gems. I won't use any more scrolls since all my characters are maxed and I have a Master Crafter, and I made a ton of food, pots, and poisons so the crown consumables are useless to me.

But the exlusive eso+ deals used to show up in the eso+ tab where the monthly statuette is. So at a glance you could check what was discounted. For a while now that seems to be missing. So I've been unsure what is a discount for everyone and which is a discount for eso+ members.

Speaking of which, I have three different partial stacks of crown repair kits, and three different partial stacks of crown tri-restoration potions. Why can't these things stack, instead of wasting four slots in my inventory?

Depending on how long it takes you to type DESTROY in the special window for each stack of trash potions. Why do they have to make everything so difficult?

Indeed, further into the season, or in other words, when everyone interested in buying crown crates already bought them before. Like I did.
