Summon gargoyle skill

How would people feel about a summon gargoyle skill in the vampire skill tree. I understand they only have three skills and bunch of passives to even it out with WW, but I think sommunig a gargoyle to fight at your side and maybe help with heath recovery or magika recovery would be pretty cool. Any thoughts?

I like it. A gargoyle, a daedroth from the monster set, a twilight and a volatile familiar. I'd love to welcome you to my zoo.

This is a good idea. I did not read the previous threads.

It would only be fitting for a Necromancer. I do not know if that was mentioned.

I usually play as nightblade, I do have a sorc and necro too, but I believe that the gargoyles are tied to vamps in some way thats why I said a as vampire skill

What has a necromancer specifically to do with gargoyles?

The strength of the gargoyle could be tied to your vampire stage so having a more powerful summon would mean taking more fire damage

Where in lore was this stated? Because if I remember correctly, it was mostly vampires that used gargoyles and had them as companions.

A Gargoyle is an architectural spout - usually carved from stone - depicting the face of a grotesque animal or person. Its function is to carry away water from the roof of a building. What has that got to do with Vampires?

In Mythology, a second function of Gargoyles was to ward away evil spirits. The general perception of Vampires is that they are evil half-spirits, so a Vampire summoning a Gargoyle would, in effect, be summoning a death wish upon itself. Either that or driving itself into Oblivion perhaps?

I cannot think of anything that would support the notion of Vampires being "Summoners", so please leave them where they are.

Actually in tes lore vampires and gargoyles have a pact to what I understand. Gargoyles usually guard vampire clans

    I’m-
I have no words for this, but neither of those definitions have anything to do with TES lore.

This is Elder Scrolls, not real life mythology.

There's barely any lore about them besides stuff that they appear like statues, slumber for long periods and can usually be seen being used by vampires. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And in other lores a sorcerer is a staff wielding mage while in TES a sorcerer is an heavy armored summoner (at least in TES 3 & 4). So what's the point?

In Skyrim there was a Perk for Vampires that allowed you to summon a Gargoyle. (Or was it two? Haven't played vanilla skyrim since years).

So it's not too far off to ask for an actual useful active skill that gives more identity to Vampirism other than +10% regen and damage reduction.

I'd like it if they made it so you can use other ablites when you use the drain or even just increased the damage to make it more usable, not to bothered about the movement penalty

It was two if you have the amulet equipped that let you summon two. Otherwise it summoned one.

imagine being this oblivious to ESO lore.

If you aren't going to make an attempt to even look into the lore of the game on these kind of threads, please refrain from saying "no this shouldn't happen" because effectively your statement means literally nothing.

I would absolutely love this skill.

Honestly, I can sense a vampire re-vamp/more bloodlines option in the near future. As it's one of the most obvious things they could do for the next expansion aside from adding a new weapon.

    Vampires need more love tbh.

Would actually be pretty decent. I can see it as an Ultimate - like a mixture between Warden's Bear and necro's Temp pets. Once activated in combat, the Gargoyle will stay until combat has ended - and wont activate if the player is not in combat / targeting on a combative target. If no target is available to the Gargoyle will vanish within 3 seconds.

Make bat swarm (Devouring Swarm) a passive attachment to the Savage Feeding passive that has a chance (10% / 15%) trigger when using a Class / Vampire ability.

Reduce DSwarm to 3 seconds and reduce the damage down by 15% - keep the heal the same.

That could be interesting, I do think that would definitely have to be linked to stages 3 and 4 tho so you have to trade off with reduced health recovery and extra fire damage other wise every one would turn vamp for the effectively free ability

Put this in, and along with it a setting to allow 'never target pet in PvP unless tab-targeted'.
