Its getting nerfed for all the broken things next patch. MAGPLAR will fall into line

I think by the end of next year, every ability will do 1k damage for 2k resources, across the board.

Hmm. Is it just cause of eclipse and dots combo? Or is it dots? Or is it eclipse?

On my stamden I can have just the same amount of dots, well 1 less. Still able to pull near the same face melting dot damage that Magplars can do as Stamina Warden... but really... I wonder those that I dotted up and bombed with either a snipe+Dive, or a Sub.Assault blames a rando near by templar...

Mmm. Let the te plars shine for a bit more longer, I am enjoying nuking the hell out of peeps and having zero to little resistance. Cant be the warden who melted you, must have been a templar.

Funny I only see ball groups of Wardens ulti-dumping permafrost.
That will change next patch as well.

Broken is a bit off putting to call the class. It is strong tho. As for everyone saying eclipse and dots is what make it strong it makes me wonder.

On my magplar what makes it strong is having counters for everything. Eclipse is just another tool people find annoying but it's quite strong without it.

I don’t think zos changing balance here is going to make ppl stop flocking to the current ‘meta’ pvp class. Not saying templar isn’t overperforming, but a solid chunk of Cyrodiil’s population changes classes every update because they can’t fathom having to fight someone where they might be at a slight disadvantage. Likely the same reason so many people Zerg so hard.

Yes half of Cyrodiil is a Templar right now, not long ago half of Cyrodiil was petsorcs, after next balance maybe there will be a new class everyone flocks to again. Personally Templars who know what they are doing have always been my toughest opponent, if anything the current state of Cyrodiil is giving me a better opportunity to develop my counterplay to them.

I'll never understand all these Templar threads.

All I can guess is a CP related problem (and not a Templar one) because Templar is just not all that in none CP PvP... nor have I noticed an abundance of them. Templars are a little more annoying I guess due to Eclipse and its morphs. But other than that: I really haven't noticed a significant boost to the effectiveness of the Templar. They have been and remain one of my least threatening opponents.

I do play BGs (and a lot of them) and I have not seen any of these issues. I see plenty of classes besides Templars nor have I noticed Templars being "overpowered". They're not even that good. As I said: maybe a little more annoying due to Eclipse but that's really all I can guess at.

Nothing new about that. Templars have always loved that pokey sticks move. But it's not even that good. There are far more dangerous moves out there in PvP than that ability.

Please explain how? Snares wont be as volatile now with the changes they apply to movement speed.

Also the main reason the Templar over performed was the damage of the DOTs, I would argue MagSorcs and Wardens are going to be in better spots.

Well I've been a magplar main the whole time, and it's been a nice experience the last few months being welcome in trials and feeling a bit more effective in PvP. I don't use eclipse because I don't need to, and knew it would get nerfed anyway. Didn't want to get used to a crutch that would just get pulled out from under me.

It'll be nice to see less templars in Cyrodiil. Variety is the key to health, and it's kinda boring seeing the same thing everywhere.

Glad that classes in general are getting looked at but can we take our time with these changes so we dont have to constantly keep adjusting the same skills every other patch.

Interesting. I played Templar for years. Switched to Magsorc with Elseweyr and I’m finding Sorc so much easier to play in pvp.
