Unsure who the best person to tag from ZOS is but for the past two years or more (I've only been playing NA for 3) every time the PTS has been under an active testing period pre dlc/chapter the live server performance is almost unplayable during primetime.

I can only assume that when active pts testing is underway server resources are being diverted to the PTS.
If this is the case please can you confirm it so that it can be understood why the problem is so bad at these times. Oh and also please fix it :)! It's making the live game a misery for the 5 pts weeks every 3 months.

The PC NA mega-server performance is effectively making the game unplayable, and not just during "prime time" hours. It does not work any better at 5:00 AM PDT today than it did at 10:00 PM PDT yesterday.

Network latency is constantly unstable, fluctuating between (a) white 102 - 230 ms. and (b) triple red digits. The frame rate is also unstable, usually 20 - 40 FPS.

Response to input is erratic, slow, and nonsensical. The outcome of pressing any key or mouse button is unpredictable. For example, when I pressed the key-bind for my character to Sprint, the game client continued to show normal movement for at least 10 - 20 seconds, then the HUD switched to show the character at a location where the character was prior to pressing the Sprint key-bind (!!!).

Frequently the HUD changes to show my character at a location where the character was previously located (usually moving) -- as long as a minute ago. After two or more such changes, the eventual outcome is freezing the entire HUD display. That is followed by the display of the primary game/account log-in dialog. After I enter the password and press <Enter>, often the result is a message that my character is still logged-in to the server.

ISP tech support cannot detect any problems with my access to the Internet. Running a platform-independent JavaScript speed test reports normal outcomes as to maximum download and upload traffic. Windows diagnostics does not report any problem with the connection per se. Further, I have not found any problems with my computer system or with the router and "cable modem". Everything works as it ordinarily does, until and unless I log-on to play TESO.

WHAT is going on with the ZOS/Bethesda mega-server system?? The events that I describe rather negatively affect every aspect of play -- whether interacting with a crafting station, looking at a list of items in a character's bags, collecting the material at a crafting resource node, moving the character across the landscape, and even while engaged in combat. I have seen my character killed by an ordinary mini-boss, simply because the server continued to play the NPC while failing to acknowledge and process my input during the battle.

These problems interfere with every UI, for example, collecting items attached to e-mail, deleting e-mail messages, and with writing and sending e-mail messages.

So ZOS wants us to pay for ESO Plus, and to buy more, more, more now, now, now from the Crown Store??

Hey, I cannot even do that! A pox on your bottom-line!!
