Not sure if there's already a thread but why is it that if we get two of the same, like let's say 2 pets, one gets refunded at a tiny fraction of the gems it costs instead of the full gem cost?

I understand that they want us to buy more crates, but why not give us a chance to trade one for one if we already paid and got two of the same item, or at least increase the amount of gems they return.

This. So true. Scam crates are a scam.

They want the main way of getting the best drops to be buying more and more crates until you finally get the thing you want, not buying just enough to get the gems for it. So they make the gem value for each item as low as they can get away with, and only available once the item is already unlocked, so you can't simply trade items you don't want for ones you do and have to keep buying crates instead.

The refund rate is ~1/3. So, not exactly a "tiny fraction."
