Hi all, the New Moon Crates have introduced three new Crown-Crate-exclusive furniture, so here's some info and pictures to help you decide whether you want them or not.

- The Shadow Tendril Patch is a Visual FX furnishing from the 'Epic' rarity tier (costs 40 Crown Gems to buy directly). In the picture I placed a light above it, because on its own it's quite, well, shadowy ; so it would have been hard to see. The tendril animations spawns from a larger area than just the ground shadow in the center.

- The Emerald Candlefly Gathering is a Visual FX furnishing from the 'Legendary' rarity tier (costs 100 Crown gems). It doesn't cast any light, the torchbugs just keep popping in and out of existence. Imo it would be a little better if the animation was a bit slower, since the bugs light up and disappear a bit too fast to follow them with your eye comfortably. There's a gif of them on ESO Fashion which you can find here https://eso.mmo-fashion.com/emerald-candlefly-gathering/ so you can see the animation in action.

- The Crystal Sconce, Green is a Light furnishing from the 'Legendary' rarity tier (costs 100 Crown gems). Be warned that this is a very bright item. Even the 'Turned Down' setting has a huge range of illumination, and the 'Turned Up' setting is so intense that it can't be placed in most small/medium homes without blasting the whole house with green light. Of course, that might be exactly what you're looking for! We always ask for stronger lights, after all and this one definitely delivers.

Overall, the FX are very nice I think, and it's great that one of the furniture is 40 Gems and thus easier to get. I'm sure a lot of people will love the torchbugs though <3 There's also a blue version of them coming to the game at a later date, if they don't remove it from PTS to Live. I got the Shadow Tendrils with gems but was lucky enough to get the Sconce and the Candleflies from the 15 Crates I got (in addition to the bat so I'm happy and done with this Season). Let me know what you think of the new Crown Crate furnishings, and please do post some pictures if you use them in a build! I'm sure a lot of people will find great uses for the Shadow Tendrils and the Candleflies in their homes, so it would be nice to see!

I used the candlefly gathering on the PTS and loved it! Reminds me of firefly nights during Summer when I was a kid. My only complaint on this item was that it doesn't cover a large area. I placed 6 sets on the PTS and it really made the area magical !

I find the Emerald Candlefly Gathering not worth it because it is too subtle and worth 100gems (or 33 on refund). A larger area would also make it more valuable.

I bought the Ayleid light with gems and it was the only thing that I knew I wanted from this season (I have an Ayleid build planned).

Those shadow tendrils are tempting though, maybe if I can nail down where I would place them :P

I agree the Candlefly Gathering would look much better if they blinked more slowly — like fireflies — but it’s only available for Gems, not Crowns, so whatever. :unamused:

Does the shadow Tendril Patch count as a regular furnishing, or a “special furnishing”?

The green crystal is way to bright, which I get it, might be what some people want, but I say most lights should have several intensity settings, especially the magic ones, like crystals or psijic balls.

The rest are way to expensive

I love the idea behind the candlefly gathering, but it's an incredibly underwhelming piece. The item is small, I mean TINY, the lights move way too quickly, and there aren't even actual bugs in there! It's just blinking little lights. I bought them with gems, and I regret it.

Yes, like Erin and Mix I also agree it's not as it good as it could (should) be. I'm sorry to hear you're disappointed with it too, perhaps you can ask Support to refund your Gems? :disappointed: They do sometimes issue refunds for Crown items when players are dissatisfied with the quality, perhaps they will do it for your gem purchase too?

@Jthomas56 All three furnishings count as 'Traditional Furnishings' towards the regular furnishing limit.

Yes, it would be nice! I thought I could use the Sconce as a Crystal display in my magic house build, but even 'turned down' it ruins the whole home by casting that intense green light! Other crystals like the Auridon ones or the Ayleid one from the Crown Store can be toggled on or off. At leas I got it from a Crate and didn't spend any gems on it, because with its brightness its entirely useless for my houses.

We have been asking for a Light Intensity toggle for a while, but I don't think they will ever implement it since they ignored it for so long. The overwhelming majority of lamps are useless to light up our houses - especially the giant halls of the manors - and we're stuck using the same couple of extremely intense lamps in all our builds if we don't want to go blind (e.g. Clockwork illuminators, Culanda and Varla stones). And on the other hand, those intense lamps are useless in smaller houses because they are painfully bright, just like this new Crystal Sconce.

Lamps should come in three settings (some already do, like the Velothi Braziers which has an 'Extinguish', a 'Light Magic' and Light Natural' toggle) so all light sources should have 'Extinguish' for an off setting, 'Light' for a regular setting, and 'Brighten' for a more intense setting. That way we could choose the furniture we actually like instead of being locked out of some of our choices because of their light intensity.

The Sapphire Candlefly Gathering is also available in the furnishing shop - Miscellaneous/ Environment - for 1500 crowns.

Also their animation is extremely well done, and it serves its purpose wonderfully. The item is not that tiny - set around a medium tree covers the whole area - which is just about right I should think. And yes they "vanish" fast ( though not TOO fast, still enough time to see it fading) thus giving just enough the idea of a firefly, without being able to see the ... fly. I think it's brilliant. And while they produce no light, are brightly enough designed to give the feel of it no matter the time of the day. But in the end - it is a matter of tastes .

For a better idea you all should check the preview in store ( either crowns or gems) in order to see animation ( for free all that) and learn your sizes ( those squares we get in said preview windows aren't there for nothing).
